I did this song because it's just really fun, has an intense rhythm once the song picks up, and LOTS of fast scratching (and not too much unidirectional scratching which I suck at, haha). It's also got a song by D-Code, whose music i've liked for a while since hearing their stuff on the old Adult Swim intro and on In The Groove (especially Determinator, one of my favorite songs for a long time). As for DJ Hero itself, it's an incredibly fun game. It, in my opinion, has the hardest overall collection of on-disc songs for any console rhythm game in the USA. You can't fail out of any of the songs, but because of that, probably around half of the songs in the game are really hard, and some of the latter ones are just downright ridiculous (like Beats and Pieces). Due to this, i'd say just getting 5* on most of the songs is impressive, and an FC on almost any of the songs is downright impressive. Definitely takes a while to get used to, but the complexity of the game (with the effector knob, uni and omnidirectional scratches, spikes, euphoria, red sample note, rewinds, the three buttons, crossfading in general) really makes it fun when you get it down after a bit of practice, because your hands are flying all over the place during some of the harder songs. This was my 4th or so time playing the song, first play of the day. Also, got two more DJ Hero videos coming up after this too, both expert 5* runs edited like this.

For those who don't know, DrumVox or VoxDrums basically means you, yourself are doing both drums and vocals at the same time. I'm hitting the percussion notes on the vocals by just making a loud pah sound into the microphone on each note. This has been a song i've wanted to do a DrumVox FC on for ages, and here it is. Not really much else to say besides that, more DrumVox FC's on the way :D Also, check out http://www.youtube.com/user/tarponsalltheway because he's awesome. The drumset i'm using is a GoodWoods set, a sturdy, quiet, responsive set with great rebound: you can get it at http://www.goodwoodmods.com/ I'm using the Destroyer Pedal in this video, which is great for zero double-hits, it's metal, and it's great for using heel-toe with. You can get it at http://www.rockbandpedal.net/ Also check out http://www.rockbandparts.com - The best product, best warranty, best prices. PERIOD. And yes, I play drums in real life, been playing them on and off for 5 years.

This is me and Danny (GuitarHeroPhenom) playing band quickplay on Visions, Expert Guitar/Drums. Danny came down with Jack and Scotty and visited me a month or so ago: we tried to make a ton of videos, but one large issue hampered us. I normally play on -20/-25 lag settings, which, when Danny tried to play on it, it pretty much made him miss nearly everything. So, we altered the lag settings to a point where he and I could play decently, but still not to our full potential: it was better than having one of us almost fail out of a song while the other was fine, though. I know a lot of you are going to ask about the recent Mayhem Pack: I downloaded it and played it on my GH:WT kit and pedal, one foot/one pedal (as I didn't have access to my RB kit) and passed every song in the pack first try except for the Black Dahlia song, so you can expect videos from me for every song in the pack. =) Something else too: this video debuts a beta version of my new intro for my videos. The next video I put up will actually have sound to play with the intro, instead of it just being silent. Also, I had a contest recently (it wasn't on YouTube): so for the next few videos i'll be linking the accounts/websites of people who won the contest. So, go check out http://www.siliconknights.net :) Oh, and if you want the video to not lag, don't run anything else or move your mouse even. Found out that as long as I didn't move or touch anything, the video actually played perfectly smooth. Probably in the top 3 hardest expert+ songs with one pedal on GH:SH, this was my third try or so, so I botch a few areas, could definitely improve. Yeah, that's the stock WT pedal (it's actually broken at the hinge: it's only held together by tape). Also, I had a contest recently (it wasn't on YouTube): so for the next few videos i'll be linking the accounts of people who won the contest. So, here's the last of the of Guitar Solos videos, with Green Grass and High Tides, done in Keyboard Mode , which is just what i call laying the guitar on your lap and playing the solo buttons as if they were a piano/keyboard. I don't actually play piano/keyboard in real life, but I did play a game called Beatmania on and off (the 5-key variant) since 1999, as well as years of Stepmania and it's predcessors since around 2000, so that definitely helps here. That's the last of these videos for now: more GH/RB drums vids on the way.

Not that hard of a FC, but I got quite a few requests for me to do this, so here it is. Pretty fun though considering it really uses the 5 pad layout well, has a lot of patterns that you don't normally see in the majority of songs on RB/GH. Not too much basic rock-beat type stuff in this song. Oh, and if you want the video to not lag, don't run anything else or move your mouse even. Found out that as long as I didn't move or touch anything, the video actually played perfectly smooth. http://www.azuritereaction.com for FAQ's, blogs, video updates and more. So, here it is. Almost 5 stars, but I don't think it's possible to get 5 stars on this with one foot unless you nail literally everything outside of the double bass rush parts. Passed this sightread with 770K the day the game came out, as far as I know I was the first to pass on expert+ with one foot (and in general). This is my third full run of the song, never took the song into practice or anything like that so a few of the fills i'm kinda ehh on but otherwise a solid run IMO. Literally one of the only songs that makes me sweat when I play expert drums (the other two are War Ensemble and Dyer's Eve Expert ), you need some stamina for this. Yeah, that's the stock WT pedal (it's actually broken at the hinge: it's only held together by tape). I'm not using two pedals because i've yet to get a second pedal that works (as in, they didn't work out of the box), although that's going to be remedied shortly. for the time being though, expect a lot more Expert videos with one foot, one pedal coming up. Oh, and if you want the video to not lag, don't run anything else or move your mouse even. Found out that as long as I didn't move or touch anything, the video actually played perfectly smooth. http://www.azuritereaction.com for FAQ's, blogs, video updates and more. Yeah, barely missed 4 stars, I really need to practice the fills in this. Played it around 10 times total, 3rd time playing the song all the way through. Going for a 4 and maybe 5 star run of this eventually. Yeah, that's the stock WT pedal (it's actually broken at the hinge: it's only held together by tape). I'm not using two pedals because i've yet to get a second pedal that works (as in, they didn't work out of the box), although that's going to be remedied shortly. for the time being though, expect a lot more Expert+ videos with one foot, one pedal coming up. I was barefoot in this one cause I had actually just dumped a lot of water on myself with a hose, so yeah, couldn't wear socks. Summer = hot weather = need to do that to keep cooled off. BTW, the voice at the end is a family member visiting lol Finally, check out http://www.youtube.com/user/S34Nowns as he's got a ton of crazy RB fc's up as well as REALLY good covers up on real drums, awesome stuff. Oh, and if you want the video to not lag, don't run anything else or move your mouse even. Found out that as long as I didn't move or touch anything, the video actually played perfectly smooth. Run to the Hills: Real Drums (READ THE INFO)

Run to the Hills: Real Drums (READ THE INFO)

from Favorites of theunforgiving on May 13, 2008

EDIT: If you look in the window, it is NOT a person: I have no idea how any of you could possibly see the plant right outside my window, in my backyard, which is closed off by a fence, as a person. I mean, don't you think i'd notice them in the window? :P The reason it's blowing around is because of the wind. Also, people have been accusing me of speeding this up. Think about how hard it would be to play a song slower than usual, and then speed it up, and have everything match up with the song: not to mention, the pitch of everything would be much higher in real life had i sped it up, not to mention obvious things such as my movements, etc. This video is not sped up, and it's kind of silly to think that I would actually resort to something like that in any of my videos. ========================= So, here it is. An actual Rock Band song, translated to drums, so to speak. The beginning is off time for some reason, but it syncs up soon thereafter. I screw up a few times, due to lack of practicing it on real drums: parts like where the red notes suddenly go from the hi-hat to the toms are a bit hard to time. Also, i took liberties on some parts of the song: I don't have two crash cymbals, so I had to hit the same one for when the blue and green are supposed to be seperate crashes, as well as hitting the snare during the 4x red, 4x yellow, 4x blue etc. rolls instead of a fourth tom which isn't on my set. The way I set this up was to let the song play out on practice mode, not hitting anything, and muting the drums in the options. (That's why the notechart shows me missing all the notes.) Then, i just spliced the audio together. I notice it's kind of hard to hear the bass pedal: however if you look at my leg, and the reflection of my foot on the floor tom, you can clearly see it going to the beat and hitting the pedal when it's supposed to; even if you can't hear it. Yes, the cymbals need to be loosened, however, the set was used when we bought it: the previous owners did not take care of it, and thus if you loosen it, sometimes the entire cymbal pops off. this is also why the drumset sounds like crap. The china cymbal was broken because of a neighbor abusing the set. The hi-hat pedal is also broken, which is why I can't lift it up to do the final hit on the patterns in the intro to the song. To contact me for whatever reason, E-mail me at azuritereactiondrums@yahoo.com since I don't read my youtube messages for the most part.

http://www.azuritereaction.com new website! read this first please: people are asking me the same questions over and over, so reading this should help answer a lot of the generic ones. Still, I appreciate the comments/views and stuff, don't get me wrong. Check out the rest of my videos if you want to. I do music videos for a part-time-professional job, so that's what most of my work on here is. So I got my 6th new drumset; it's pretty damned bad, so I invented yet another mod, and got this video of me playing Enter Sandman on Expert. The reason I have socks with rubber bands on my drum heads is for increased sensitivity and lowered double-hits: details about it can be found here: http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3807 (my gamertag = sskitzzo) And yes, I play drums in real life, have been for 4+ years, so the people going on about play a real instrument , no, sorry, I do play real drums. FINALLY, my grip is fine for playing this game; play on this set before you say that, playing on this set is NOTHING like playing on a real drumset in terms of size, height, feel, movements needed, or anything else. Not trying to be a dick with all this, just informing people so they don't keep on saying the same stuff, haha, but don't get me wrong, I appreciate the comments. To contact me for whatever reason, E-mail me at azuritereactiondrums@yahoo.com since I don't read my youtube messages for the most part.
