Found; show 16/07/08 http://www.theedgeam.com/thursdays.htm Jim Guest of Missouri and his staff continue to work diligently to find solutions to organized stalking and electromagnetic weaponry harassment. In his interview with Correspondent Gina Romano he talks about a victim in Chicago who is 85 years old who has been implanted and has the scars to prove it. Although she is 85 years old her perpetrators show no mercy. Representative Guest discusses the possibility of Government testing and Government infiltration from Operation Paperclip and other spy organizations. Also discussed is microwave weaponry and how it is used for the purpose of mind control. Although this weaponry was developed to attack an enemy on the battlefield, it is now being used against private citizens in their own homes. Organized stalking is growing and the list of victims is endless, not only in the USA, but worldwide. What is the solution? Rep. Guest suggests that an investigation on the Federal level needs to be conducted and tells the listeners how they can help get a Federal investigation started. Oh, there is plenty to talk about. Tony Snow has passed. The great cardiac surgeon Michael Debakey has died at age 99. The FISA bill passed the Senate with about half of the Democrats voting for the bill. So, disappointing. I talk with Barry Summers, local activist, about a Parkside protest that he and several other activists are having on Tuesday, July 16 at 4:30 pm. Great show. Enjoy. ShareThis

ush Signs Spy Bill and Draws Lawsuit By Randall Mikkelsen, Reuters Posted: 2008-07-10 21:15:32 Filed Under: Law News, Nation News WASHINGTON (July 10) - President Bush signed a law on Thursday overhauling the rules for eavesdropping on terrorism suspects but immediately met a civil liberties challenge calling it a threat to Americans' privacy. "This law will protect the liberties of our citizens while maintaining the vital flow of intelligence," Bush said at a White House ceremony to mark a rare legislative victory for the president during his last year in office. President Bush signs surveillance bill Mark Wilson, Getty Images Surrounded by members of Congress in the White House Rose Garden, President Bush signs a bill that authorizes eavesdropping on terrorism suspects without warrants. The American Civil Liberties Union filed suit in Manhattan federal court as Bush signed the measure and called for the law to be voided as a violation of constitutional speech and privacy protections. "Spying on Americans without warrants or judicial approval is an abuse of government power, and that's exactly what this law allows," ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romero said in announcing the suit. The action was filed on behalf of human-rights groups, journalists, labor organizations and others who say they fear the law will allow the U.S. government to monitor their activities, including compiling of critical reports on the United States. Bush quickly signed the bill a day after Congress gave it final approval, with Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama dropping earlier opposition to vote for passage. Obama's Republican rival, Sen. John McCain, has supported the bill but was absent for Wednesday's vote. The bill authorizes U.S. intelligence agencies to eavesdrop without court approval on foreign targets believed to be outside the United States. The administration says the measure will allow it to swiftly track terrorists. But the suit charges the law permits warrantless surveillance of phone calls and e-mails of U.S. citizens who may have legal and legitimate reasons for contacting people targeted by government spying. I think that FISA is very important. The principle is important. The American government shouldn t spy on us without a good reason. Just cuz, didn t work for me with my mother and it shouldn t work for out government. I was able to find Kargo X from the Daily Kos who has been following this issue for a couple of years. We discuss what happened this week. This conversation ties in very nicely with my prior conversation with McJoan, also from the Daily Kos. Tomorrow, Saturday, June 28, I will be discussing FISA with Glenn Greenwald. I will also discuss some local news (Park Square) with Gordon Smith and Cecil Bothwell. ShareThis

Feingold on FISA “Compromise”: “It’s not even a fig leaf; it’s a joke.”Feingold on FISA “Compromise”: “It’s not even a fig leaf; it’s a joke.”
from Crooks and Liars
June 25, 2008

Senator Russ Feingold joined Amy Goodman of Democracy Now! Tuesday to speak out about the reprehensible FISA compromise brokered by House Leader Steny Hoyer. Feingold has always been the most articulate and outspoken voice on Constitutional liberties, and he sure didn t hold back. Download | Play Download | Play (h/t Heather) SEN. RUSS FEINGOLD: It s not even a fig leaf; it s a joke. It does not in any way prevent the ruling from that court, basically automatically, of immunity, because it just involves saying, Look, they ve got a piece of paper from the government. This is nothing but Democrats trying to pretend that they re doing something here. They are doing nothing. They re giving in. [Missouri Republican] Senator Kit Bond is basically giggling at the fact that the Republicans and the administration got essentially everything they want on this. It s sadly a great failure on the part of the Democratic majority that was elected in 2006 primarily to get us out of Iraq, but also significantly to protect the Constitution of the United States. This is not a proud moment. Do you hear that, Democrats? The GOP is laughing at your craven weakness. Hell, your approval numbers are higher with Republicans than they are with the people who put you in power to supposedly protect their rights. Do what you were elected to do and filibuster this bill until the real intelligence gaps are closed and the telecoms are compelled to prove they didn t violate federal law by helping the most unpopular President in American history spy on us. When, precisely, did it become unfashionable (even taboo) to stand strong on protecting core American values? Have we really allowed George Bush to fundamentally alter the character of our country? Be sure to tune into CSPAN-2 tomorrow to see whether or not there are any true leaders in the Democratic party willing to fight the good fight.

I think that this FISA legislation is very important. Therefore, I contacted McJoan (Joan McCarter) from the Daily Kos to chat about what s going on and what we can do to help stop this legislature that will not make us safer. The Mark Agrast, from the Center for American Progress, has written a nice piece outlining the many wrongs of this bill. Glenn Greenwald continues his excellent coverage of this issue. Kargo X has also been on this issue. To get involved please check out the following - Act Blue (I have donated!!!), Color of Change, Electronic Frontiers Foundation and MoveON.org. In February, during the primaries, Barack Obama said he would support the Constitution and oppose the FISA Amendment Act and its program of unlimited spying powers for George W. Bush. Now, in the general election, Barack Obama says he supports the Bush warrantless wiretapping spy program. Barack Obama even says he will continue this Big Brother spying program if he is elected President. If we had known this during the primary election season, would Barack Obama be the Democratic nominee? No. Barack Obama used us. He has betrayed us - and he's proved he's just as rotten as the rest of the candidates. Brian Katulis from the Center for American Progress is my guest. We discuss his new book, Afghanistan, his recent trip to Pakistan and, of course, Iraq. We also begin our $75 give away. We figure that it is expensive out there with food and gas prices. We want to help, at least a little bit. We will give away $75 each week for the next 4 weeks. For most cars, $75 should get you a tank of gas and a soft drink. Enjoy!! ShareThis
