Cadence Revolution - Show 73
from Cadence Revolution July 19, 2008
Teamwork is so important that it is virtually impossible for you to reach the heights of your capabilities, to achieve your goals and to succeed in life with out it. The Orb gets things warmed up with their combination of ambient house and slow soulful rhythms with added synthwork and effects inspired by '70s ambient pioneers before the heat and rhythm of Brazil come to life thru the voice and music of Aline de Lima. We crank things this week with songs that show off the power of teamwork, by combining soulful vocals and a throbbing groove that grabs you by your toes and doesn't let you stop. Starting things off is Philadelphia singer Kat Fader, and Venetian DJ Franciska before the Alanta based collective known as Ananda Project get remixed by Joe Claussell for a world wide sound with Balearic grooves, Afro-Latin rhythms, R Pogo Kreiner are Madrid De Los Austrias and are given the remix treatment to close things out. Cadence Revolution - Show 72
from Cadence Revolution July 12, 2008
Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain. Warming us up is the latest from L.A's Bitter:Sweet, (Shana Halligan and Kiran Shahani) whose lives seemed to have over-lapped but never crossed until the perfect moment in time. How else can you explain two people who lived one block away from each other, and who recorded just one wall away, who never connected until an anonymous online posting? We then slide into another track from Tokyo 507, before Ecuadorian Cecilia Villar Eljuri shows off the power and voice of the guitar, whether plugged or unplugged, to work in harmony with her own. We crank things up with a pair of remixes, starting with a sneak peek of an upcoming track from Miz Mandy that throbs with the beat of the heart, before Japans Studio Apartment (DJ/Producer Masanori Morita and keyboardist Noboru Abe) keep the groove going. E.G. Daily voice may sound familiar to movie and TV fans due to her voiceover work on Babe II: Pig in the City, The Powerpuff Girls and Rugrats, but here she uses her vocal talents to help power along a dance floor rhythm. Speaking of vocal talents, Monique Bingham has worked with a wide range of artists either as a lead or featured vocalist. Here her voice slides and glides around the musical energy of Studio Apartment for an track that is bursting with energy. Keeping the energy at a heart thumping pace is one of Mexico's leading DJ/Producers, Tovar before we merge with the vocal skills of Philadelphia's Kat Fader and Venice's DJ Franciska who met by chance in Ibiza during the summer of '06 and have been churning out amazing grooves with a driving beat since. Vancouver based Toby Emerson has been dabbling in electronic music form an early age, and his skills and talents caught the attention of record labels and producers, and has seen his music snapped up readily by hungry ears around the world. Cooling things down this week are two offerings from The Grooveblasters, first an original track of Cool Cosmopolitan grooves, funked up beats, soulful vocals before they offer up a remix of a great Lovespirals song. Already the king and queen of cool, Lovespirals (singer/songwriter Anji Bee and multi-instrumentalist/producer Ryan Lum) put the call out to fellow musicians to remix their amazing song 'This Truth', and the combination of Lovespirals and The Grooveblasters is the definition of chill and cool. If you want what you hear, just follow the links to the songs in the playlist below to get them. *denotes songs artists have released for free Warm It Up 00:00 Bitter:Sweet - Waking Up 03:08 Tokyo 507 - Zanzibar 05:50 Eljuri - Jaula (con Johnette Napolitano) Crank It Up 10:04 Miz Mandy - In the Mix (Steve DeParr Remix) 17:51 Studio Apartment - Beautiful Sunrise (QH Reproduction) 24:57 E.G. Cadence Revolution - Show 71
from Cadence Revolution July 05, 2008
It is fine to have many goals in life, but to focus on too many at once is to pull yourself in every direction, and going nowhere. Focus on one goal at a time to make full use of your resources and you will arrive where you want to be. Getting things warmed up with his blend of pop meets rock is Jay Della Valle who made the switch from wedding singer to artist. His simple melodies and musical rhythms speak of deeper meaning. Donna Lewis has seen her music shift and change over time, reflecting her own life going from artist to mother, and taking time off to raise her family, but still working on other people projects (Trevor Horn's Art of Noise project and David Torn's Lars and the Real Girl) that took me down new and different avenues and allowed me to approach 'In the Pink' refreshed and with a new perspective. Tokyo 507 is back yet again, can we help it if we love this duo of Mark Southeron and Hayden Turner, and their wonderful smooth guitar laden jazz, simple dance beats and ethereal vocals. We crank things up with Mates Of State, a now married duo of Kori Gardner (keyboard/vocals) and Jason Hammel (drums/vocals). Simple arrangements and the sparse sound of piano and drums working in time and around each other show that less is often more, and you will want to hear more from them. We then serve up a trio of artists who have been around for a while, and are still cranking out great music, starting first with Collective Soul who when they first came on the scene, back in '94, critics called them one hit wonders. Fourteen years, eight number one rock hits and seven million in sales later they are back with their latest release showing off their guitar laden sounds and driving beats, before another long time artist David Usher jolts us with his blend of poem like lyrics dancing with high energy music. We finish with one of the members of indie music royalty, The Charlatans with their trademark blend of guitars playing off and with each other creating a sonic wave that the bass and drums pick up and increase in intensity as Tim Burgess's vocals come in, with a melody that's so beguiling it almost disguises the disturbing intensity at the heart of the song. Keeping with the sound based on the guitar is Asobi Seksu as James Hanna creates musical textures with squalling guitars, while the vocals of front woman Yuki shift from girlish falsetto to plaintive laments. East Coast bred but L.A based Time Machine are emcees Biscuit and Jet Set Jay, and DJ / Producer Mekalek show their song writing overflows with DIY attitude as Mekalek relies on heavy drums and rich melodies to push the attitude into the trios sound. Audiokonstrukte serves up some free music off of his last massive release Smart Echoes For Sensitive Ears where beautiful melodies meet sluggish rhythms in a sound field between ambient and the almost forgotten genre of trip hop. Next The Orb returns with their sound of 70's ambient meets classic Chicago house as when they glide into the groove of Urban Soul (aka Roland Clark) who draws on the music of the club scene to spark his musical creativity. Creativity is something Lennon (Kathleen Murphy), and The Sun Paulo shows off as they careen through impossibly convoluted twists, turns and dazzling displays of kinetic virtuosity shot with rampant, crazed energy. Cooling things down is The Atomica Project with the title song from their latest release Grayscale that took the duo of programmer/songwriter Wade Alin and vocalist Lauren Cheatham three years to make and prove the wait of downtempo beats and stunning female vocals was well worth it. We close out with anther free song from Crisopa, the personal project of Madrid based Santi LizÃn, that present melodic electronica with the pretension of prompting therapeutic trips towards impossible landscapes. If you want what you hear, just follow the links to the songs in the playlist below to get them. *denotes songs artists have released for free Warm It Up 00:00 Jay Della Valle - Now U Know 03:17 Donna Lewis - Shout 06:39 Tokyo 507 - Body Electric Crank It Up 11:04 Mates Of State - My Only Offer 13:53 Collective Soul - All That I Know 17:23 David Usher - Ugly Is Beautiful 21:06 The Charlatans - You Cross My Path 25:54 Asobi Seksu - Thursday 28:48 Time Machine - The Groove That Just Won't Stop 31:25 Audiokonstrukte - Sensitive Poem* 34:03 The Orb - Let The Music Set You Free 39:15 Urban Soul - What Do I Gotta Do (Eric Kupper Club Mix) 45:44 Lennon - Infinitebeat2 (Remix) 50:15 The Sun Paulo - But We Want More Cool It Down 53:25 The Atomica Project - Grayscale 56:10 Crisopa - North Left* Run Time 01:03:30 Cadence Revolution is sponsored by The Point For Fitness

Sexy Contortion in a Spinning Wire Cube
from YouTube :: Tag // lost July 01, 2008
This young blond caucasian contortionist performs her acrobatics act in a spinning wire cube on Chinese Television (CCTV 3) to the rhythm of modern pop music. She is exceptional well build for what type of artist she is. Most contortionists do not have much of a breast and what they once had was lost during their hard physical training (a womens breast is mostly fat after all). Sorry, but I noticed that, especially because I have seen many contortionists performances in my life and this sticked out like a thumb. I am not sure who the girl is. The sub title are probably saying it, but my Chinese is a bit rusty :). Maybe it is Zlata Filipovic (Zlata.de) or Irina Kazakova. I cannot tell for sure. Cadence Revolution - Show 70
from Cadence Revolution June 28, 2008
It is not because the truth is too difficult to see that we make mistakes. We make mistakes because the easiest and most comfortable course for us is to seek insight where it accords with our emotions. Warming things up is a new artist coming our way thanks to our good friends over at Ariel Publicity. Southside's sound is a mix of pop and rock relying on dancing guitars swirling around a rhythmic beat. We shift gears into the funk and soul of The Grooveblaster, and close the warm up with the latest from ABC showing off their ability to blend Martin Fry's soulful vocals, with a sound laced with hooks and an energy that will lift you up. We crank things up into a driving rock and blues vein starting first with Brooklyn-based musician Darrin James, who has taken the blues sound and spiced it up with touches of gritty rock, soul, country and jazz and served the resulting sound up with a raw driving feel, before Sugar Blue returns to serve up his more traditional blues sound using both his voice and his masterful use of the harmonica to keep the pedal to the metal. Next Reel Big Fish hail form Southern California, and bring their unique blend of ska and punk meets the feel good vibe of The Tubes with a touch of stinging guitar licks to round things out. The Mexicolas are back with their mix of crunchy guitar riffs, driving bass beat and earthy vocals before Miss TK and The Revenge hit us with their dance and pop infused punk sound. Sydney DJs, Yogi and Husky are Random Soul, and shift the music into a more dance floor feel with their blend of R 00:00 Soundside - Mind Over Maria 02:24 The Grooveblaster - Take a Hard Ride 08:01 ABC - The Very First Time Crank It Up 11:19 Darrin James - Trivial 14:12 Sugar Blue - Bluesman 18:30 Reel Big Fish - Party Down 22:33 Mexicolas - Big In Japan 25:07 Miss TK and The Revenge - Future Power 28:22 Random Soul - Key To Soul (Jay-J's Electrofied Mix) 33:52 Quentin Harris - Slow Velocity 38:43 Tokyo 507 - Curious Groove 43:05 Craig de Maio - Drop The Needle* 46:09 The Pinker Tones - Happy Everywhere 49:45 Sunburn In Cyprus - About My Name* Cool It Down 54:38 JosÃphine - I Think Of You (Je pense à toi) 57:48 KaiserCartel - Okay 60:45 SPiN - Home Run Time 01:04:15 Cadence Revolution is sponsored by The Point For Fitness
