This music video for "MHz" by Scottish band, Vacuum Spasm Babies, is an experiment in mixing traditional film elements with Machinima (Machine-Cinema). "MHz" is available on "The Thin Man" EP through Shark Batter Records (SharkBatter.com). I designed the characters in SecondLife and bought in-world scripts and garments to animate and clothe them. Each dancer's performance was recorded separately against a blue background to disk (using Capture Me freeware screen capture software for Mac OS X). To give a warm lighting I set SecondLife's environment settings to sunset. The old movie footage was filmed by the Edison Company between the late 1800s and 1905-ish, so the copyright's expired. I used iMovie for editing, blue screen effects and the additional colour splodge animation stuff.
