Lazy Jockey’s: Video from Wildcast - African bush adventures live-blogged to a screen near you on May 15, 2008 0 views
At least today I didn’t find any new carcasses. But then I took a different route heading west down to the Chiredzi River. It’s just the most magical drive down there in the Acacia woodlands. But in the early hours things are always pretty quiet along the river although I did see this giraffe bull heading down to drink. A few elephant were a ways off feeding in the mopanie woodlands where they get most of their sustenance at this time of year. Just before heading back to hangar duty I did my rounds on Banyini and in the cool weather, this really handsome White Rhino bull was drinking at the pan before sauntering off south. And just as I was about to start work, a troop of baboon crossed the airstrip right next to my hangar. Those little guys riding on their mom’s backs sure have it good. They’re always so comical. Pity my mom’s back was never that comfortable AND fun! adventure, africa, african, animal, animal kingdom, animals, baboon, blog, blogumentary, documentary, ecotraining, education, elephant, elephants, experience, experience adventure, flickr, giraffe, GLTP, gonarezhou, Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, malilangwe, Malilangwe narrowcasting, mashable, narrowcasting, Open Content Alliance, pamushana, peace parks, photo, photos, podcasting, teach, video, white rhino, wildcast, wildcasting, wilderness, wildlife, wildlife documentary, youtube, zimbabwe

Bethlehem Woman Writes Book About Son Struggling with Autism from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) on May 15, 2008 0 views
A second chance. It's not only the title of a Bethlehem mother's new book...it's also the theme of her life. To say Sandra Gerencher has her hands full is an understatement. On top of being a Special Ed teacher in the Bangor school district, she's also a single Mom to four. PJ, Shelby, Ramsies, and 13 year old Terry. She adopted Terry, who has severe Autism 5 years ago. Asbergers, Autism, Mental Retardation. You name it he has it, seizures. The dogs were rescued too. Ramsies is from a high kill shelter. Ramsies followed Terry where ever he went. Terry's bond with dogs started when he first moved in with Sandra. When adopted said he could never talk in full sentences. When he talks to dogs he does in full sentences. Sandra recently put that bond to paper in a book called Second Chance. It teaches kid's about adoption. A lot of technical books out there but none, kid's can really understand. Sandra's pooches, past and present, she's adopted 7 within the past 10 years, share the page with Terry. The dog simplifies what adoption is and puts in terms that a child can understand. For Sandra adoption means a Second chance. Not only for Terry PJ, Shelby and Ramsies but also for her. I was lonely, missing something in my life. I wanted to be a Mother and that's what a second chance is. Sandra's book is available on Amazon.com and at Barnes and Noble.com

Poésie sur écoute - épisode 115 from RADIO MARELLE on May 15, 2008 0 views

Beach Walk 636 - Turn Off the Pressure from Beach Walks with Rox: Daily Aloha from the Beaches of Hawaii on May 15, 2008 6 views
[See post to watch Flash video] iPod | Phone | Embed Beach Walks Copy and paste the html code below into your site. Beach Walk 636 - Turn Off the Pressurelt;/a> One of my Twitter friends, @Akelatal, pointed me to a funny video the musician John Mayer did - a parody of himself. That led me to discovering that John had planned a tour this summer, expecting to have a new album. Well, no new album, but he is "still doing the tour"http://www.johnmayer.com/blog (see May 4th video), and seeing the one door closed is going to explore what might be behind another one. He didn't freak out and succumb to the pressure to create for some arbitrary reason. I just love that. Please welcome and check out our show sponsor, Primo Water. John is back for a super special Six Song with a theme. In fact it s so special, there are actually seven songs for your listening pleasure. Dandy Warhols - Mohammed, Nietzche Local H - How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Rock, 500,000 Scovilles, What Can I Tell You Less Than Jake - Motto, History of a Boring Town And yes, I produced this episode hence the many many seconds of non-speaking at the beginning. But hey, I don t claim to be a radio professional by any means eh. Thank goodness for podcasting.
