The home page is the first thing you'll see when you log into Facebook. Fortunately, it's also arguably the most useful feature of the social networking site. Here, you can see what your network has been up to since you last logged in. See the latest updates from your Facebook network, and see the latest pictures.

Many Facebook users accept the default Facebook settings. However, you can customize your Facebook news feed to show what you want to see by default. Just drag and drop to re-order. You can choose to see photos first, see notes, status updates and more. This is web 2.0, after all. You can also create your own Facebook filters to see updates from, for example, family or colleagues.

With a little effort, you can be the most popular person on Facebook by just putting some thought into your Facebook status updates. By sharing photos, videos and URLs, you'll quickly see your status update "Likes" skyrocket. Give it a try!

If you have a lot of Facebook friends, your home page may be overrun with all their status updates. Using these simple tips, you can hide a Facebook user's updates so you're not bothered by them. Perhaps you're seeing way to many status updates from a chronic "oversharer," or perhaps a certain someone is unintentionally update spamming. Whatever the case, it's easy to hide Facebook updates from people you'd rather not hear so much from.

Facebook allows you to share as much or as little detail about yourself as you like. Most of us are careful and don't upload questionable, racy or potentially embarrassing photos to Facebook. However, we can't count on our Facebook friends to show the same discretion. If a friend uploads a photo you're in but would rather not be associated with, you can easily untag Facebook photos so your Facebook friends won't likely see. You can also choose to set all Facebook photos of you to private.

Facebook has a great way for you to keep in touch with your family. Family Groups allows you to share photos, stories, and even create family events where everyone can accesses and see them. By creating a Facebook Group for your family you'll make sure that everyone shares in all the family fun.

Filling out your profile on Facebook gives your Facebook friends an idea of what you're into. Movies, music, books, even religions and political leanings and much, much more is all fair game in the complete Facebook profile.

You may worry about how much information you and your friends share on Facebook. But did you know you can completely customize Facebook privacy settings? You can make it so that certain users can only see certain items, block your boss from seeing your wall or photos or videos, keep your friends from seeing private exchanges with your significant other and much more. While you can't delete your Facebook account without contacting Facebook staff, you can deactivate it if you want or need to.

BY BOB ANDELMAN Hank Rosenfeld found the kind of book writing job that guys like me salivate over. He met Irving Brecher, a brilliant and funny writer from the Golden Age of Hollywood comedy, and spent hours recording stories from Irv about everyone from Groucho Marx and the Marx Brothers to Judy Garland and Jackie Gleason. AUDIO EXCERPT: "Irv loved that movie, Meet Me in St. Louis. He had to read the entire script to Judy Garland because L.B. Mayer said, 'She doesn't want to do the picture!' She didn't want to be outshone in the movie by the little girl's part. But Judy used to come over to his house and sing. So he sold every line in the script to her like it was Shakespeare." “The Wicked Wit of the West,” as Groucho called him, lived a long and productive live, starting out writing one-liners for Milton Berle in the 1930s, two Marx Brothers films, punching up the humor in The Wizard Of Oz, writing and convincing Judy Garland to star in Meet Me in St. Louis, creating the long running radio and TV sitcom, “The Life of Riley,” and writing the original film version of Bye Bye Birdie for Dick Van Dyke and Ann-Margaret. Lucky for us, Brecher maintained a magnificent memory of the events of his life and spent his last years telling his stories to Hank Rosenfeld. Rosenfeld produced a book that is mostly Brecher’s memoir with some bits of Rosenfeld thrown in. The Wicked Wit of the West is a terrific read for any fan of comedy, particularly the Marx Brothers/Milton Berle/Jackie Gleason variety. It gets my highest possible recommendation.
