In the first installment of the "Simonetti Television Redux" Series features a commentary on censorship by Derek Simonetti. This was inspired by the "Not so Recent" Firing of Don Imus for using the phrase "Nappy Headed Hoes" on his Syndicated Radio Program. Derek, as a response, does the FCC's job and censors his monologue...Kinda.

this is my special tribute to-Claudio Simonetti from Goblin band(Italy),the movie maker Dario Argento,Yngwie malmsteen and the great famous SUPERCAR!

In late April 2006, I drove over to Mozart's Coffeehouse on Town Lake in Austin to meet with Ellen Simonetti. Simonetti is a former Delta Airline flight attendant who was fired over her personal blog, "QueenOfSky.net." Ellen started the blog about dating, traveling and working for an airline as a way to cope with the loss of her mother who passed away in late 2003. She quickly gained a following. In October 2004, she posted pictures on her site of her in uniform on one of Delta's aircraft. While some claim that the images are suggestive, they look to me as though they are more tongue-in-cheek than porn. I've seen racier photos in a JCPenny catalog. Nevertheless, the company fired her, claiming she had violated a company rule that prohibits employees from being photographed in their uniforms. Ellen has filed suit over her termination. The suit, which is currently stayed because of Delta's recent bankruptcy filing, raises issues regarding an employer's right to terminate employment over employee website content. Simonetti isn t the first employee to be fired over content posted on a personal blog. Google fired project manager Mark Jen for discussing the company's finances on his blog. Matthew Brown from Starbucks in September 2004 bloging about the company, its management and customers. ESPN sacked Gregg Easterbrook in October 2003 for blogging about the ethnicity of the producers of the Kill Bill movies. Firings over content employees post on their personal blogs are steadily increasing. Today, Ellen is writing a book about her experiences in the sky, maintians the Queen of the Sky blog, blogs about celebrity sightings and events in austin at AustinGossip.com and continues to get interview requests from major media outlets.
