The Badger King - The Showering Dragons (2003) Before YACHT and before The Blow I was in a band called The Badger King. We made three records together, two of which are out of print. In 2003 we made a rock opera together called "The Showering Dragons" of thirteen songs and a 45 minute film that was commissioned by the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art. We debuted it at PICA's very first TBA Festival with a live performance of the songs with the film projected gigantically behind us. We had planned to release the opera as a CD/DVD combo, but we were pretty pissed at each other and we both became increasingly busy with school (Ritchey is now a doctoral candidate of musicology) and other music stuffs (Manta, YACHT, The Blow).
