I've try the SSS effects for the character these days and I finally get the better result. Few days ago, I always confuse with those parameters of the SSS effects, comparing with mental ray's Fast skin Shader, vray is not very handy. However, it still has distances for reaching the "soft skin-like" looking, you may try it more. In the video I'm taking a example for blinn shader and SSS shader, you can find out the different between the two materials.
