Youtube took down one of my pure and childlike videos- my poor little video that couldn't possibly violate anything. Somewhere my video is crying in a basement, waiting to be set free. If I could bottle my unhappiness about this issue, I wouldn't be able to put a lid on that bottle, because the bottle would be full of explosive P.A.I.N. What Youtube hopes to achieve to by letting it's minor underground sub-genius moviemakers be treated by shit I don't know. Perhaps the idea is to encourage people like myself to feel bad about Youtube? It's working. Right now I am in no position to enjoy making any other kind of video than this one. Greetings unrealized mediocrities! Y'know, gang, sometimes I just don't live up to my delusions of grandeur. If you're going to watch my new video expecting sparkling observations you may instead have your dreams of light entertainment squashed. It's a shame, but let's not get too bummed, Heath Ledger is dead and he's better looking and more talented than most of us put together. We should be happy. This year I'm going to focus my godlike supply of comic energy on the emotion of happiness. I feel I've covered hate and anger and can now open up my hippy vibes to optimism, positivity, and guilt-destroying joy. God, some people shit me. God, can you give these people cancer? I work hard, I put something back into our stupid society, and it's rewarding, but it's also a waste of my beautiful, beautiful time. What I like about working on vids for Youtube is I get to structure my thoughts, get some insights happening, share all of that, and keep going. I feel involved. Involved in The Struggle for mankind's soul. Sadly this often involves dealing with people who may well have soul, but are retarded in the tiny head. Please put tumors in these heads, God. I could maybe begin to think about handling 0.01% of the criticism that comes my way if it made any fucking sense at all. But virtually none of it does. It's just pointless shit I have to hear or read or see, and then it sticks in my head until it gets flushed out in the next brain dump. I think it's brain abuse. I think my mind has better things to do than process what are already heavily processed, second-hand, cardboard thoughts from people who don't do their own thinking. I do a lot of my own thinking. It takes time and energy, so when students of recieved wisdom bombard me with the shit someone else told them, I feel offended. Please God, hunt down all perpetrators of two-dimensional shitkicking thought and give them three months to live. For then they may finally notice they really are alive and wake the fuck up. So I had This Big Idea I'd record five hours of footage for every hour I was at the gathering, but once there it felt bogus to be that intensely focussed, so I let myself drift away with the fairies, and basically stood around shooting the shit all day. And night. DJANGELUSZERO- or Dave- and myself, woke late on the big day after our 5AM finish. We sat up watching 5 or 6 hundred of his karaoke videos as I ranted at him that people would pay good money to watch him take the stage, put on his Soulful Head and make the microphone his absolute bitch. I feel it's important to remind gifted people of their talents. The things people don't know about themselves would fill an infinite lake of fire with damned souls for all eternity. I mean, I could watch that too and get a giggle, but on balance it's slightly more engaging to see people rock out and be awesome. As one of the two organizers of the event I was proud to arrive late, hungover, and with no idea what I was doing or even if I wanted to be there. Let's face it, it feels wrong to to funnel yourself into a situation with lots of people you don't know and start socializing. Plus, the crowd was very penis-oriented, there being an overwhelming male contingent who I'm guessing were packing heat. What I'm getting at there is they had dicks. In their pants. I'll be honest and say I didn't spend a whole lot of time picturing this imagery, but I hope you do, because theres something wrong with me. I managed to lose all interest in using my camera soon after arriving, and instead dived into actual human-type conversations with people. This type of behaviour continued for another 15 hours- no shit- when I went to to the taxi rank and waited for a cab with Dr Lemur and co. for an hour and a half. The next day was a season of depression and anxiety as my mind struggled to cope with everything that had been said and done on that gigantic day. It's called a "come-down". Youtube is powerful drugs, and the gathering was a series of massive od's. So many bright, motivated people, sharing a common obsession as the very poorly designed Fed Square sucked up every erg of sun power and roasted us alive. How hot was it? Dozens of us died right there and turned to ash. We found we could renanimate these poor souls by asking if they'd like to make a video- which while to be expected was still miraculous. Where some see attention-whores, I see people with actual personality, and the day had more personality than I could even try to deal with. Met some very Interesting Motherfuckers, the kind of people who aren't boring because they never let themselves get bored. In particular a group of teen dudes who will be your future masters in they're not careful. It was a very organic day, which is a nice way of saying there weren't loads of fake-ass bitches. At no point did I find it necessary to utter the words, "You better step the fuck off, BIATCH!" Never happened. There were folk who got very fucking drunk, but it only seemed to make them funnier people. I will suggest that next time we start the day later- say two-ish- because 15 to 17 hours is just madness. Yesterday I felt like I'd been up all night smoking crack. I'd be happy to see all of these motherfuckers again, even soon. But first I need to get together my thoughts about the event, which will involve more blogging and vlogging and lots of hunting down vids about the day to absorb them like a sponge. The internet is jampacked with freaks. If it was a real place, I'd roll a grenade through the the door, knowing many innocents would die, but that rarely is it possible to wipe out so many opinionated fools. Having said that, I'm a people person, and I look forward to this Saturday's Melbourne Youtube Gathering. It's going to be crazy day, and I hope I lose my mind and take my clothes off. As we will be in Fed Square, which bakes like a cauldron under Melbourne's merciless Sun, this may even happen, as sunstroke takes it's toll and I forget who I am and what I'm doing. So, as I have no wish to slip into a coma and die like a youth who's taken a lot of Ecstasy not much water, I will be taking precautions. Hat, sunscreen, water bottle, umbrella, fear of death- I will be bringing all of these with me on what will be long day. I will also bring a laptop and camera, in a bid to interview every Youtube type person who arrives.
