UNTIL HE COMES Live with Christ s Compassion Luke 15:1-7 Psalm 142:4 [ I look to the right and watch, but there is none who takes notice of me, no refuge remains to me no one cares for my soul. ] World needs stagger our imagination. There are more lost people today than at any time in history. A scientist said: The world s greatest need is the compassion that took Jesus to the cross. In Luke 15, Jesus reveals three things about His compassion-- 1. It is specific, not abstract. v 4, He cares about the one sheep that is lost. Jesus loves people one-by-one. Christian compassion starts with the specific persons around us. 2. His compassion is active, not passive. v 4, He goes after the one sheep until he finds it. Jesus was never the standing rabbi. He was always the searching Shepherd. People don t care how much we know until they know how much we care. 3. His compassion is sacrificial, not token. v 5-6, He lays the sheep on his own shoulders. Jesus calls you to take up your cross and follow Him. By yourself, you can t do that. Jesus must put you on His shoulders and carry you. Today commit to let Jesus carry you to live with His compassion.
