The Nutcracker ballet is being performed at the San Antonio Municipal Auditorium from Nov. 27 - Dec. 6. Penned in 1892 by famed Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky, The Nutcracker has long been part of Holiday tradition. Once again, the magnificent ballet makes its way back to the Alamo City, featuring Russian prima ballerina Marianna Ryzhkina of Moscow's famous Bolshoi Theatre Ballet for the Nov. 27-29 performances. The Nutcracker will be performed by the Metropolitan Classical Ballet under the direction of Alexander Vetrov and Paul Mejia in association with the San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet. Performances will be accompanied by the San Antonio Syphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Bernard Rubenstein.
