Pokemon Crystal Version ~ Versus Sabrina
from YouTube :: Tag // music July 13, 2008
I also came up with "The Weasel, Humbled?! Victory Through Revives" as another title. I made a lot of mistakes in this battle, essentially all of them regarding The Weasel. Why I thought he could outspeed Alakazam, I'm not sure. Maybe I was hoping he'd get lucky. Regardless, I don't have much else to say about this battle. Music: "The valedictory elegy ~guitar ver." by Motoi Sakuraba, from Baten Kaitos Origins. For more about my lame adventures in Pokemon Crystal (and maybe other games?) Sayed Sabrina Live in Concert "Love Has No Pride"
from YouTube :: Tag // modest June 27, 2008
Her voice has been described as powerful, unforgettable and haunting; her style compared to that of legendary greats ranging from Billy Holiday to Janis Joplin. And yet Sayed Sabrina is modest of her own abilities. When questioned, this unassuming songstress with the thick head of hair and impish grin remains humble of her gospel fused talents. "I know I can sing," she begins with a flash of deep dark eyes, that reflect her Welsh, Pakistani and Fijian background. "Don't get me wrong. It's just that I'm a perfectionist. Never satisfied, you know? I love to involve myself in the expression of songwriting, in every aspect." This exploration of the craft has lead Sabrina to conquer a variety of instruments, including percussion, piano, and even the marimba. Yet it is her songwriting and her voice that have garnered her a loyal following at such LA standards as The West End, The Viper Room, The Troubadour and Roxbury. At these local venues, her fans revel in the unbridled passion of her sultry and passionate vocals. Her musical influences are an eclectic mix of jazz, punk, blues, reggae, hard rock and raga, and are reflected in her work. "I like to take bits and pieces of influences," she says softly. "A dash of Thelonious Monk mixed in with some Nina Hagen or Bonnie Raitt. They mix very well with my passion for world beat, gospel and jazz, and I'm able to write from a variety of perspectives." These perspectives shine in the haunting rhythms of "Just One Touch", to the tasteful and jaw-dropping punch of "Bigger Than That." Sabrina's songwriting skills receive high marks in these tantalizing originals, and are beautifully complemented by her wide and throaty range few other artists can claim. Sayed Sabrina is currently continuing her on stage performances, Sayed is concentrating on writing and recording new material.
