How would Limbaugh choose? How would Limbaugh choose?

A lot has been made about John McCain s fumbling answer to a question about the fairness of insurance companies covering Viagra but not birth control. Download | Play Download | Play I just love this video because it s one time that McCain s Media didn t have a chance to cover for him. Don t you think McCain should have answered the question? I mean it s simple enough, but I digress. I wonder how do you think Rush Limbaugh would answer the same question? We know he likes his Viagra quite a bit, but would he be in favor of women getting fairly treated by the insurance companies also? Or would Limbaugh give up his little blue pills? Oh, never mind

Limbaugh: I want to know. I look at Iowa, I look at Illinois I want to see the murders. I want to see the looting. I want to see all the stuff that happened in New Orleans. I see devastation in Iowa and Illinois that dwarfs what happened in New Orleans. I see people working together. I see people trying to save their property I don t see a bunch of people running around waving guns at helicopters, I don t see a bunch of people running shooting cops. I don t see a bunch of people raping people on the street. I don t see a bunch of people doing everything they can whining and moaning where s FEMA, where s BUSH. I see the heartland of America. When I look at Iowa and when I look at Illinois, I see the backbone of America. Thanks to a C t you understand, it was all their fault for not escaping Hurricane Katrina! Wake, up! You drive by media fools. They were lazy, lazy people that deserved their fate. If only they were white and responsible. Just listen to this horrific rant as Limbaugh is all agush with admiration over the way in which Iowa and the Midwest has responded to the flood disaster that befell the area last week. But to just congratulate the residents in their determination and courage in fighting the disaster isn t enough for the AM talk blow hard. Limbaugh could not pass up the opportunity to once again trot out his old, well known disdain for poor blacks in the south who were victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. To hear Limbaugh describe it, Iowa is more American, more honorable you know more white than Louisiana. Download | Play (The audio will work in just a few minutes) It would seem that the images of floating bodies, and documented stories of elderly New Orleans residents drowning in their attics is cold hard facts surrounding humans that Rush Limbaugh thinks could have benefited by just pulling themselves up by their bootstraps a little more. Nevermind that more than 1700 human beings lost their lives on live television as America watched in horror. You don t hear progressives saying that Iowa is any less devastating because the death toll in those floods was a total of 5. It is still a tragedy. And progressives understand that full well. But according to Rush the story of Iowa under water isn t a story about humans over coming adversity. It s a story about how much more patriotic the white bread basket is than the lazy south.

The highlights are: A. Barack Obama's promises to Israel that he may have a difficult time honoring in the future. B. Barack Obama fires first salvo across John McCain's economic bow while only receiving harmless smoke and mirrors in return. Obama has successfully pinned the Bush administration's economic woes on McCain like a tail on the donkey. From our view, he wears it well. C. Country bracing for higher fuel and food prices as farmers fear modest crops this year. With Ben Bernanke signaling an end to rate cuts to stem inflation, the country is in for a rough ride.

Barack Obama, the nominee of the Democratic Party as of last night’s final primary contest, awakens this morning to the nightmare of a shotgun wedding with Hillary Clinton as his running mate. After clearing every hurdle to achieve what no person of color, man or woman has in the history of American politics, he now has to find a way to placate a bunch of self-centered losers from forcible glomming on to his success. Hillary Clinton failed to do the right thing, the stand up thing, and the proper thing by congratulating Barack Obama on winning the needed number of delegates to capture the nomination. Intentionally, she snatched the door open to hijack her way back into the White House by hanging on to Obama’s coattails. Somehow, she has deluded herself and the fringe element within her core support that the Obama camp gives a rat’s ass about what she wants. America is a country that loves a winner and shuns its losers. There is little room for disgruntled second place finishers.

As much as we hate rats and rat bastards, many times it is the only way to get to the truth. This is especially true when the government and the power that runs it is involved. Scott McClellan’s new book "What Happened" leveled the hammer big time on the Bush administration without mercy, leaving Karl Rove’s ass hanging in the wind. With John Conyers, heading up the House Judiciary Committee shoving a subpoena up Karl’s butt to force some conversation, conversation that Karl and the rest of the White House crew has been thumbing their noses at, maybe the tool needed to give Rove the tight screw he has coming. To date Karl has been playing the executive privileged game saying he and his “Boyz” are above it all. But this well timed book release is forcing the all the ugly and largely ignored stories of what was really going on behind the scenes that led this country to war at a time that has to have Karl “The Pillsbury Dough Boy” shitting bricks

Returning from any three-day weekend generally leaves some of us a little sluggish and lacking that creative spark. Fortunately for me, an anonymous comment left at the blog gave me the spark for today’s podcast. Our last podcast posting covered the possibility of worldwide despair due to global disasters along with food and fuel shortages topped off with domestic and international economic downturns that last beyond our comfort zones and levels of measurable tolerance. We also mentioned that because of said poor economic outlook and global catastrophes many would be lucky to have a backyard to have a backyard Bar BQ in this year. Based on most reports from airline hotels and restaurants many did just that and stayed close to home.

President Bush made outrageous claims today in Israel, saying that Democrats were appeasers to Iran as you know since it s the hot topic of the day. Right wing talker Kevin James tried to call Obama Neville Chamberlain, but as is usually the case with these talk show conservative hosts, he knew nothing about the historical facts revolving around Chamberlain and what happened as Hitler took power and started a war with Europe. I guess just repeating RW talking points doesn t work sometimes. Chris: You are BS ing me You don t know what you re talking about. Download | Play Download | Play (h/t Heather) Rough transcript: Chris: I want to do a little history check on you what did Neville Chamberlain do wrong in 1939? What did he do wrong? Kevin: It all goes back to appeasement. It s the key term. Chris: No, what did he do, tell me what he did? Kevin: It s the key term. Chris: You have to answer this question. What did he do? Kevin: It s the same thing, it puts it all Chris: Well tell me what he did? Kevin: It s appeasement. Chris: What did Chamberlain do wrong.. Kevin: His actions, his actions enabled, energized, legitimized Chris: What did Chamberlain do? Kevin: It s the exact same thing. Chris: No stop, Kevin. I m not going to continue with this interview unless you answer what that thing is. What did Chamberlain do in 39, tell me? 38? Kevin: Chris, it s the exact same thing alright? Chris: What did he do? Yelling What did he do! Kevin: 38, 39 Chris what year do you want? Chris: What did he do? I want you to answer, what did Chamberlain? He s talking, He s talking about appeasement. Chris: What did Chamberlain do, just tell me what he did, Kevin? What did Chamberlain do that you didn t like? Kevin: What, what Chamberlain did? confused What, what, the President was talking about, you just said the President was talking about Barack. Look Chris: You re making a reference to the days before our involvement in WWII. When the war in Europe began. I want you to tell me as an expert, what did Chamberlain do wrong. Kevin: You re not going to box me in here, Chris. President Bush was making that. I m glad, I m glad. Chris: You don t know, do you? You don t know what Neville Chamberlain did Kevin: Yeah, he was an appeaser, Chris . Chris: You are BS ing me You don t know what you re talking about. I couldn t transcribe anymore. It hurts. OK, this is too funny. Kevin, just say you don t know and move on. I think Matthews is a unstable most of the time, but occasionally he ll get something right. Neville Chamberlain Chamberlain s legacy is marked by his policy regarding the appeasement of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany with his signing of the Munich Agreement in 1938, conceding part of Czechoslovakia to Hitler. In the same year he also gave up the Irish Free State Royal Navy ports. Chamberlain was forced to resign the premiership on 10 May 1940, after Germany invaded the Netherlands, Belgium and France.

Outside of his idiotic rants that are nothing more substantive than a teenager in heat, he has the audacity to smear a very prominent Latino politician by throwing out the shoeshine boy card Download | Play Download | Play Amanda at Think Progress caught it as well. I understand now why Bill Clinton hit on my date about a year ago at the Kobe Club in New York. I was minding my own business and Clinton came in. […] He came over three or four times, had Ron Burkle with him and the mayor of Los Angeles, who I thought was either the shoeshine guy or a Secret Service agent. He compares LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to a shoeshine guy. He can t help himself, he probably doesn t even realize how offensive that is. l d like to ask Rush if he had a legal prescription with him at the Kobe for Viagra, don t you think? April 24, 2008

(The Red Lasso clip might take a few tries to get working) Limbaugh went off the racist/violent rails again when he discussed his Operation Chaos plan and sang a little tune about it. The dream end of this is that this keeps up to the convention and we have a replay of Chicago 1968 with burning cars, protests, fires, literal riots, and all of that. That s that s the objective here. This jerk is asking for violence in the streets and the blood to flow. Responding to this lunacy today Rush Limbaugh had to cut off the phone on caller Lisa after she slammed him over his racist and hateful comments that he made about hoping for riots in America. During today s show (4/23) Rush made the statement that he is dreaming/hoping for riots after the Dems convention if they choose Hillary over Obama. He even sang his statment to the I m Dreaming of a WHITE Christmas tune. It appears to me that he is hoping African-Americans will revolt if Obama doesn t win and in his dreams we would riot and wipe each other out so that he can indeed have a white Christmas/country. And he said this also: Riots in Denver, the Democrat Convention would see to it that we don t elect Democrats, Limbaugh said during Wednesday s radio broadcast. He then went on to say that s the best thing that could happen to the country. Here s the audio of caller Lisa really pouncing on Mr. Viagra: (it s a rough transcript) Download | Play Lisa: You were saying that you were hoping for a White Christmas if the Democrats choose Hillary over Obama and you even kind of sang your statement to the tune of White Christmas or did you mean a white country? What exactly did you mean by that statement yesterday? Rush: Ho ho ho. Lisa: Because I feel like all Americans, the American people want is what s best for this country. Rush: No, they don t. Lisa: Why does this have to be a hate-filled comment from you and other radio hosts? Rush: Lisa, there s nothing but love for people, care and concern for people. Lisa: It didn t sound that way yesterday. Rush: Well, you re picking a selective moment. How often do you listen to the show? Lisa: I listen almost every day. Rush: You do? Lisa: Yes I do. So I was a bit surprised should I say shocked that you were so blatant with that comment. Rush: I ve made the comment before. Lisa: Who wishes for riots, who wants that to happen in this country? Rush: Who wishes for riots? I didn t get the ball rolling, it is Democrats like Al Sharpton that there will be . Lisa: Rush. Rush: You need to be calling Rev. Sharpton Lisa: I m calling the gentlemen who made the comment yesterday and sang to the tune of I m Dreaming of a White Christmas. What, what was that about? Rush: It was about nothing. You are, you are taking Lisa: You are an intelligent man and I don t think anything you do is about nothing Rush: Lisa. Lisa: Everything you say and do on your radio show has a purpose. I ve been listening long enough to pick up on that, Rush. Rush: What s happening here is that your own racism and your own projection of racism is forcing you.. Lisa: I have never wished for riots in my country. Rush: You are reading my mind. Between the two of us, you are the racist Lisa: I m tired of gas prices, I m tired of truck drivers not being able to get to deliver goods. I m tired of people getting kicked out of their homes. I m tired. I just want what s best for this country for everybody white black Chinese and I NEVER wished for riots. Rush: I see Americans, you see colors and races Lisa: I didn t say White Christmas or white country, which one? laughter Lisa: I wish you would take your comments back and just really start from scratch. Republicans, Democrats, we need to do away with both parties and what think what s best for this country and all that would do is put Rush out of business with his hate filled discussions every day Rush: We need to put liberals out of business, Lisa. We need to put mush minds out of business like you. Lisa: Why am I a mush mind? Why are you resulting to name calling, sir? He had enough and ended the call. She forced him to blame Al Sharpton and then called her a mush mind. That s real intelligent discussion, folks. I was waiting for him to call her a poopy head or something. See, he got caught making a fool of himself and knew it, so he stumbled through that call. Sure, it s all the liberals fault that this country is so screwed up. Heck, we ve had the White House since 2000 Oh, sorry, I forgot that Limbaugh and his conservative cronies have run the country into the ground and never lifted a finger to do anything to stop it. Rush and BushCo. only ushered in and then enabled its demise. And he was the head cheerleader of the conservative meltdown. At least he helped expose the country to the destructive principles and practices we receive as a nation led by Conservatives.

Obama wears flag pinObama wears flag pin
from Where's the Outrage?
April 16, 2008

Barack Obama stated that he had stopped wearing a flag pin. He believed that patriotism was more than a pin on your label. For this very American stand, he was roasted by the far right. There were/are doubts about his patriotism. Well, yesterday, Barack Obama was given a label pin by a disabled veteran. Barack put it on. Barack then correctly states, This means something coming from you. Was this moment scripted? I doubt it but I know that Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity will ask that question because they believe that no one is patriotic but them. They will question this genuine moment. To me, it doesn t matter if this was scripted. It would seem that the campaign if they wanted to script something like this would have done so 2 - 3 month ago when the brouhaha was at its peak. I think it was real. More importantly, I think that this moment and others have made Barack Obama a special man at this particular time in our history. We need a democrat who doesn t cower when he is being attacked. We need someone who can return that viciousness with grace and finesse. Barack has shown the ability to do this very well. He isn t perfect but he is damn good. There are about thousand polls per day now. We have a daily Gallup poll which is national. It shows Barack Obama with a ten point lead. Since we don t have any national election in which Hillary Clinton will be running against Barack Obama, this is useless in my opinion. We have several local polls in Pennsylvania. Quinnipiac University released a poll on Monday which showed that Obama was only 6 points behind Hillary Clinton. Franklin and Marsh poll also shows Hillary Clinton s double digit lead now only down to 5 points. I think in these statewide races local outlets do the best. Local outlets that do this polling thing all of the time like Quinnipiac. So what does this mean? I believe that Barack Obama has weathered the storm. If he can keep his foot out of his mouth and continue to be positive and inspirational, he will keep the race in PA close and he might even win it.

With Limbaugh telling his peeps to vote for Hillary in Texas and the media suddenly examining the way it s covered Obama I m having this little feeling that our media is hoping Clinton wins Ohio and Texas by big enough margins so the primary keeps churning along. Download | Play Download | Play Limbaugh has been actively urging his Texas listeners to cross over and vote for Clinton in that state s open primary Tuesday, arguing it helps the Republicans if the Democratic race remains unsettled for weeks to come. I want Hillary to stay in this…this is too good a soap opera, Limbaugh told fellow conservative talk-show host Laura Ingraham on Fox News Friday. He reiterated the comments on his Monday show and replayed the exchange with Ingram. Go and vote for your candidate today. I hope we have a winner after tonight so we can focus in on the real problem: McCain and BushCo. and what they have and will do to our country And as Duncan notes, I m too lazy to track down an example right now, but a couple of times I ve seen this kind of they still won t come out for the general election idea, mostly directed at supposedly young Obama supporters but somewhat across the board. That, needless to say, is beyond absurd. I think I heard Kinky Friedman on BillO s show say that the old people beat out the youngsters every time. The turnout has been amazing on the Democratic side and will play out this way in the general election and McCrazy will be behind in cash as well. FDL: Rather, I think we re seeing the evidence that the media has decided that Obama is now the presumptive nominee, and having built him up he must be taken down to make the way for St. John McCain (something I wrote about on February 20).
