He says, You need a heavenly vision. And these tight-spirited theologians that say that visions don t exist anymore that might explain why their preaching is so boring. Compare Washer to the tight-spirited Apostle Paul. The Apostle says that the Hebrews asked for visions (signs), but that God ONLY USES PREACHING not visions or signs. "For since in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom did not know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of preaching to save the ones believing. And since Jews ask for a SIGN, and Greeks seek wisdom, we, ON THE OTHER HAND, PREACH Christ crucified (truly an offense to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks)" People wanting visions and signs will be offended by the Gospel. It provides no signs and wonders, but only propositions. No wonder Washer is offended by the idea that visions don't exist. He's just like the Hebrews -- seeking signs and wonders. "Tight-spirited", therefore, are those who deny Washer his addiction to heavenly visions. Secondly... Washer says, "If you're a Christian you still only have one hope -- that God would gives you eyes to see. ... There's only one thing that will build a fire -- and that is a heavenly vision sent by God." Washer wants Christians to have four eyes -- we have two eyes on the Gospel and two eyes on the clouds. And if we lack these heavenly visions, then we lack the one hope, according to Washer. So for Washer, our one hope = visions from heaven. Contrast Washer with the Apostle Paul. Jesus Christ REVEALED IN THE GOSPEL is the believer's one hope... Ephesians 4:4-5 "There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in ONE HOPE of your calling; one Lord, ONE FAITH, one baptism," In Eph 4:4-5, Paul equates the believer's one hope with the one faith. The Faith is the Gospel (Jude says contend for the faith, Paul says preach the Gospel - so the faith = the gospel). So to say that there are two legitimate hopes, would be like saying there are two legitimate gospels. Washer implies there are two hopes when he says that we should hope on the Christ in the Bible AND the so-called "Christ" in the clouds. Anyways, I have a question for Washer. Should believers catch as many planes as possible, to maximise their chances of seeing Jesus in the clouds? And here are some more verses that teach that there is only one hope - a hope based Christ in the Bible (not in the sky)... Romans 5:5 "And THE HOPE does not put us to shame, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit given to us;" Colossians 1:23 if indeed you continue in THE FAITH grounded and settled and not being moved away from THE HOPE of the gospel which you heard proclaimed in all the creation under Heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister, Romans 15:13 "the God of THE HOPE shall fill you with all joy and peace in the believing, for your abounding in the hope in power of the Holy Spirit." (Young's Literal Translation) Thirdly... Washer is the one teaching spiritual props. He doesn't think THE FAITH or THE HOPE of the Gospel is sufficient. We also need to take photos of Jesus to post of our walls, in order to increase faith, according to Washer. Washer says, "There's only one thing that will build a fire -- and that is a heavenly vision sent by God." My question... But how long will the fire last, before you need another vision? Is this a once-for-all vision or do you need the visions every week at church (i.e. stained glassed windows of Jesus)? And why is Washer so obsessed with visions? What help were the visions to the Old Testament Hebrews? Did the visions remove their unbelief? No. So why does Washer think visions will increase people's faith? Moreover, didn't the Scribes and Pharisees see Jesus? Did that give them a "spirit of revelation" or "build a spiritual fire in them"? Moreover, seeing/touching Jesus didn't help the disciples. They didn't have "eyes to see" Christ for who Christ really was, until Christ disappeared at Pentecost. Funnily enough, it was actually AFTER they no longer could see/touch Christ, when they finally understood the meaning of the Resurrection. If 3+ years of seeing/touching Christ was of no avail to the disciples (e.g. Peter still told Christ not to go to the cross, even after seeing/touching Christ all this time), should we be wasting our time praying for something redundant? And if it's so important to pray for visions -- if we can't even be free of spiritual props without visions, as Washer says -- then, Oh Dear, Christ forgot to put request for visions in the Lord's Prayer. If only Paul Washer had written the Bible! Washer says, "Pray that God would show you, what has been done for you." Washer says, "Show me a power. Show me what you have seen with your eyes, touched with your hands." Does Washer only believe man has two senses? What about smelling God and tasting Jesus? Can we also touch God with our feet? Why only our hands? Judas saw Jesus with his eyes, and not only touched Jesus with his hands - he actually kissed Jesus. Now, do we want to pray to touch/feel up Jesus when it didn't even help Judas? If Washer had lived in Christ's day - would he have been stalking Jesus around with a pair of binoculars (to see Jesus) and been touching Jesus the whole time? All this touching/seeing of course, is only to increase our faith. Thankfully today, we have laws against this type of harassment. "O God, open up the heavens and let me see your glorious Son." Isn't it unfair that Washer keeps everything secret? Why doesn't he tell us what Jesus looks like? Could it be that Washer hasn't had a vision after all, and he's lying?

Channeling the creative spirit and often times legendary vocal delivery of Jim Morrison, Romanian born and Los Angeles based artist Andrei Tutunaru of Talons of Spring has just finished putting the final touches on his debut video for his visionary piece, Comfort Drag . The video, which debuted on May 15th, was directed by Chris Calazia in a very detailed film noir style influenced by Anton Corbijn s work with Depeche Mode. Most everything in the music video was filmed in a rented apartment in East Los Angeles, and you can see the passion clearly evident in the work and in the acting by both Andrei T. and Marissa Hart. The stop animation photography segments also help add another dimension to the piece, bringing to mind darker stop motion videos by the artist Tool. Talons of Spring is currently gearing up for a live show and screening of the music video here in Los Angeles, and currently recording their second venture entitled American Noir for release in 2008. They are also seeking to find investors for a conceptualized full-length film based on eight spoken word tracks, songs, and instrumental compositions. The film shall also be directed by Chris Calzia.
