Host: Duke Eastwood Recently Duke Eastwood was DJ at an L.A. screening of the film "You Weren't There," a documentry about Chicago punk spanning 1977 through 1984. After digging up all relevent records and putting the set together, then listening to its power, he decided the set was too amazing to just be heard that one night in a loud crowded theater; so here it is! Hear tracks from windy city giants such as the Effigies, Strike Under, Naked Raygun, the Mentally Ill, Articles of Fairth, Big Black, and many, many more. After you realize you wish you had been there, go over to www.regressivefilms.com, and check out the film for yourself!
Humble Pie - The Sad Bag of Shaky Jake .mov (Quicktime) Humble Pie - The Sad Bag of Shaky Jake .m4v (iTunes) From the Wikipedia: The Sad Bag of Shaky Jake was a single released in 1969 by English rock outfit Humble Pie, who were one of the first so-called supergroups of the 1960s to mid 1970s. Although released in a number of European countries (e.g. West Germany, Holland), it did not go on worldwide general release and is not included on the official list of Immediate Records single releases. Humble Pie's first live performance of this song was during their appearance at the beginning of the Bilzen Festival in Belgium on August 29, 1969, notably with Jerry Shirley not on drums but on electric piano. The song set included their version of Ray Charles Hallelujah I Love Her So and Dr. John's I Walk On Gilded Splinters . The support act was the then unheralded heavy metal band Deep Purple.[1] The R Cold Lady was written by drummer Jerry Shirley. He plays the Wurlitzer piano, while Peter Frampton plays the drums.[2] The Sad Bag of Shaky Jake was released on Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate Records label.
