Good Vs Evil and our Culture of Fear.
from YouTube :: Videos by renetto June 02, 2008
This is my last video in the series "This I Believe". I hope you've enjoyed watching them as much as I have enjoyed making them. I'm sorry if their's been any confusion about the purpose of me doing these videos in the way that I've done them... but in time I believe that wiser minds will prevail. My wife introduced me to this series on CD after checking it out at our local library a few months ago... I've been wanting to share some of them with you ever since. Listening to the essays challenged me in a way that I hope you've been challenged and stirred me to action... as I hope it will you as well. A Game of Cards This I Believe - An Essay by Norman Cousins (1951) This series of videos is produced to stimulate your minds and hearts and ask you the viewer... what do you believe. Others have taken the risk and exposed their innermost personal beliefs and weather you agree or disagree... at least I hope it's made you think. now it's your turn... pick up a pen and paper... or god forbid... a video camera and share with us the collective wisdom of your life experience and how that has shaped your own... "This I Believe" Norman Cousins was editor of The Saturday Review for 35 years. A noted author, he detailed his fight against two life-threatening diseases in Anatomy of An Illness and The Healing Heart. In addition to his literary career, he was an ardent critic of the nuclear arms race and the Vietnam War. In 1951, radio pioneer Edward R. Murrow began the This I Believe project to engage Americans and encourage them to communicate openly about the beliefs and values that guide them through life. In 2005, independent producers Jay Allison and Dan Gediman revived the series in an effort to encourage people to develop respect for beliefs different from their own. This I believe is a collection of 80 essays on book or CD and is available through NPR - National Public Radio http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4538138 Author: renetto Keywords: renetto paul robinett this believe npr essay Norman Cousins philosophy nature of man fear social science performing art Added: June 2, 2008

Something Sick Inside My Head...
from Most Discussed March 24, 2008
Please leave a comment and let me know what you think... If you want to hear more... LET ME KNOW! So what are The Walter Eugenes... Simmer U2 Boy and Achtung Baby in the same crock pot. Throw in a dash of Sting. A fistful of Cactus World News. A light sprinkling of Simple Minds. And a bunch of stuff that you're not even sure what it is. Cook on high heat for about 8 years and Voila, out pop the Walter Eugenes! The music is guitar based, aggressive, and mood-inducing, alternating between introspection and euphoria. Paul's vocals are delivered in a haunting, penetrating, whispering, lulling, snarling, swirling, open-hearted manner. But comparisons have a limited usefulness at best. Ultimately, the Walter Eugenes wind up sounding pretty much like the Walter Eugenes.
