Winter Re-Run :: The Welding: Bride's Song - I'll Cut You if You Cut and Run

Winter Re-Run :: The Welding: Bride's Song - I'll Cut You if You Cut and Run

from Vlog of a Faux Journalist on January 02, 2009
Duration: 0
As promised, some documentary footage from the alternative wedding I helped produce and direct with my now-welded-together-forever pals Carol and Steve. The song -- "I'll Cut You if You Cut and Run" -- was written by Carol and me - the bride's lyrics to my music - and was played by Brooklyn's Hungry March Band the day following the blackout of August 2003. What a beautiful nightmare it was. More footage from "The Welding" perhaps forthcoming. This serves as part of the collection of sketch /trailer footage I've made toward producing "The World's Longest Open Love Letter" film. Wish me luck. Again. When I boot up my phone it says, "Try Again," which are words captured from inside a bottle top by an artist whom I know by the name of H.D. I bought the print from her. Perhaps it's time to hang the art collection. Again. "Try Again." I'm just saying. _____ POST NOTE: Re-posting this because I can and need to see it again. Tags: Faux Press Road Node 101

Revisiting Road Node 101 Autumn 2005

Revisiting Road Node 101 Autumn 2005

from Vlog of a Faux Journalist on January 13, 2008

With the return of Tim D to the vlogosphere and reconnecting with Margot Lynch through Facebook and MySpace, revisit Autumn 2005 travels. Spent two months in D's Saratoga Springs working with Margot. That film project was one of those seminal work events you KNOW will be with you as part of the Big Slide Show in the end. "The Timeless" tune in WGA strike re-run here is one that Margot played for the sound department one day at lunch when Neil (boom) and I broke out the cart for recording sound effects. Margot sets my brain on fire. Great to have you both back in my life. Here's the recording for download in .mp3 There's a better-produced recording of the tune on Margot's Myspace page. Check it out.

Manly-man sports vlogger J.F. Kurtagh at ZuDfunck made this wee tour of vlog sites in honor of the Node Trip. Either sports enthusiasts are kinder and gentler nowadays, or I just assumed sports enthusiasts weren't so kind or gentle in the first place. Hmmm. It's the latter. Damn. I love it when my world-view gets wrinkled. Thanks, Zud! I'm gonna go to a football game this weekend in your honor.

Road Node 101::Omaha & Eric

Road Node 101::Omaha & Eric

from Slim Shady on September 16, 2006
Duration: 0
Arrived outside Omaha following Off-the-Grid Geek camp utterly exhausted and without land-legs. Stumbling from the car, this man loped to hold open the door. Invited him to visit. He did. I had one small tomato, some salt & pepper chips, a loaf of bread, and the left-over Scotch whisky Scott Prentice had offered as a parting gift. Eric and I ate together. It seemed a feast. Eric told me he's an ex-con, but I knew that already from the tattoos. He made me feel beautiful. Sweet Eric made me the beneficiary of an air mattress he had but did not use. It was marvelous to sleep not on the ground. thank you, Eric. You're an angel. Bill Streeter.

Advertising Model

Advertising Model

Have to ask again when it became uncool to befriend those who befriend you? As with anything, friendship can be taken too far, especially if it comes from greed. But by-and-large, think scratching each others' backs is a good thing. Advertising model.Art & Commerce. Part of Road Node's trip west to Vloggercon was underwritten by Markus Sandy who not only provided a roof and bed, but helped to buy food and art supplies. More than that, he suggested calling the residence 'Road Node 101 House', which got the name out there and lent a generosity to the enterprise I'd not have been able to imagine without support, fiscal and otherwise. Blew me away. Continues to blow me away. So, I made an ad for Markus and for those who put food on his table, and for a project he stands behind, respectively Outhink Media and Our Media. This is also an ad for iPod. Music is "Delirious" by Luka Bloom. _____ Post Note: This was originally shot with the Nokia 6682 in 3gp and thereafter transcoded to .mov Tags: Faux Press Road Node 101 Movlog Advertising
