December 12, 2007

First, a conversation on the week's news in Canada with Vaughn Palmer, political correspondent for the Vancouver Sun. Then, the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Bali is drawing to a close. Will anything come of it? Some delegates wanted an agreement that includes ways to help China and India to develop environmentally friendly practices. Have plans been drawn up? Were there new ideas on ways to cut greenhouse gas emissions? New York Times Environmental Reporter Andrew C. Revkin has been covering the conference. He joins us with his report. Also joining us today is Kelly Kennedy, a journalist with the Army Times. She was embedded in Adhamiya, Iraq with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment. Adhamiya was one of the last neighborhoods of Baghdad to fall during the U.S. invasion. Anti-American slogans still cover the walls. It was a deadly and life-changing assignment for the company. Kelly Kennedy's four part series, Blood Brothers is a first hand account of the day to day life for the soldiers patrolling Adhamiya.Tomorrow on Weekday: Leftovers and the Holiday Party
