Whitewater Park, PA's first set of constructed rapids, is located in the Stonycreek River adjacent to Greenhouse Park. Here in Class II water, novices can learn basic whitewater techniques and more-experienced boaters can play in hydraulics. Tubing and fishing are also popular activities here.

In 2006 a group of us who whakapapa to Taranaki immersed ourselves in learning te reo o Taranaki - Taranaki dialect. We journeyed to different marae around the Taranaki region and learnt our history and our language and reconnected to a part of who we are. This digital story tells that story, the beauty of our language and the importance of the whenua (land) to our people and of reclaiming what is ours so that we can move forward positively into the future. Nga mihi nui hoki ki toku whanaunga a Ruakere Hond e noho tuuturu tonu ki tenei kaupapa ataahua. Otira ki a tatou nga uri o Taranaki - ka nui te mihi ka nui te aroha.
