MCCAIN'S BIG CASH PRIZE
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) July 25, 2008
Paying $4 for a gallon of gas is a drag, but what may be worse is listening to White House wannabes who promise to rescue us from our misery. Take Senator McCain s recent proposal to offer a $300 million cash prize to the inventor of a car battery that can out-green 100-mpg plug-in hybrids. Is McCain s money pile really necessary to spur our nation s geniuses to get it together and invent an ultra-efficient car? reason.tv s Ted Balaker thinks not.

Jerome Tuccille: Rand, Rothbard and the LP's Big Moment
from YouTube :: Tag // milton-friedman July 07, 2008
In 1972, Jerome Tuccille published It Usually Begins With Ayn Rand, his memoir of the libertarian movement in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Palling around with the likes of economist Murray Rothbard, former Goldwater speechwriter Karl Hess, and others, Tuccille sought to fashion a left-right coalition between elements of the New Left and and the Old Right. It Usually Begins with Ayn Rand is at once whimsical and moving, poignant and penetrating in its insights about political movements and personal failures. Re-released last year in a new and expanded edition last year, it remains required reading for anyone interested in the libertarian movement—or the American political scene of the past 40 years. The Reason.tv Project
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) May 05, 2008
Reason.tv was launched in October 2007 with the help of Drew Carey. Mr. Carey, a longtime libertarian, approached Reason magazine, whose motto is free minds and free markets, with the idea of producing videos that expose government regulations and policies that impinge on personal freedom. The Web site has roughly 2.5 million viewers a month who tune in to watch the Drew Carey Project and other libertarian videos. Topics include medical marijuana, a dancing ban in Arizona, organ transplants, road congestion, and eminent domain. We spoke with the editor of reason.com and reason.tv, Nick Gillespie, who just stepped down as editor in chief of Reason, the magazine, after holding that title for eight years. See and hear what he has to say about reason.tv and presidential politics in the accompanying video.

from popular posts - blip.tv (beta) January 15, 2008
In the Arizona desert, Drew Carey discovers a modern-day "Footloose" story. A few years ago, Dale and Spencer Bell built a family oriented steak house with outdoor seating, fire pits, lots of old western style, and live music.
