Rangoon, Burma Take a ride on the municipal railway in Yango
from YouTube :: Videos by fatbellytraveler January 20, 2008
There aren't many tourists on the railway in Rangoon. It is just our kind of place. We like to see what the life of the people is really like, sans manicured tourist sites and shops. We had some time and a few hankerchiefs for the perspiration of hot steamy day in Rangoon and took a ride on the local train. The route runs in a circle, was build by the British in the days of their Empire and sees a real slice of Burmese life. There are vendors selling snacks, smokes and the ever-present betel nut chew. We rode from the main central station to Insien (pronounced - "insane") at a speed not much faster than we could walk and were serenaded by a blind musician singing traditional songs. The men wear sarongs as do the women. People were friendly but not outgoing to us obvious foreigners. Our "approved" guide was a bit uneasy with us opting for public transit but accommodated our wish in good spirit. Take a ride on the Rangoon railways. Walls Have Eyes - surrealist film shot in Rangoon, Burma
from videos November 17, 2007
Bizarre surrealist thriller. A room attendant in a hotel in Rangoon, Myanmar (Burma) is chased through a wormhole by an invisible entity. This concept was intended to be a not-so-subtle parable of the invisible hand of totalitarian dictatorship in partnership with the foreign profiteers helping to keep this nightmare in place. Creepy soundtrack by Mujaji - http://www.mujaji.tv.

Skipping Across Asia
from - blip.tv (beta) April 02, 2007
I hurled down through the atmosphere, landing in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Just in time for the camel market in Pushkar. After not finding anything in the colour I liked (blue), I headed east for a peek at the Taj Mahal. From there a great bound to Varanesi for a refreshing splash in the polluted Ganges. Then over for a quick stop in Dhaka, Bangladesh to checkout the organically propelled taxis. A hop over to Burma. First in Rangoon, a climb up to the Schwedagon Pagoda. With the glare off the gold and marble, you really need some shades. Then by train, I rolled north to the ancient city of Pagan, with its scattered temples and pagodas. Next, Bangkok, Thailand for three very uninspiring temple photos. With a sharp turn south via motor coach, I briefly visited the bustling hamlet of Singapore. The final stop was on Bali amongst the palms and the beach beyond, for body-surfing time, before leaping up into the stratosphere. The musical accompaniment is Jet Lag by Zazie.TECHNICAL NOTE: More images were captured in my minds eye than with the camera. Unfortunately, I dont have a telepathy adapter for my scanner.
