A strange confrontation ensued when a young gay male couple started a conversation with a lone protester who seemed more opposed to "Obamacare" and changing the way health care is provided than he was with the issues involved in The National Equality March.

Katherine is an accomplished typist, take minutes & handles the voluminous emails an interview like this might well produce. She volunteers to help people who are isolated and don't understand their feelings about being pre-opt, post-opt, cross-dressers, transsexual, transgender or just confused. She's "comfortable in her skin" & volunteers her time to help others feel comfortable in their skin--even when they choose to live 24-7 as a social gender that doesn't match their biological one. Thank God for trans folk volunteers like Katherine who are there to help others find their way home. I nominate her for "Miss America 2010"! Do I hear a second?

Trans people & their supporters will be in the first contingent of NYC's Gay Pride Parade on Sunday, 6/28/2009. Gathering on 56th St. between 5th Ave & Madison, "The Sons & Daughters of Sylvia Rivera" will celebrate the "mother" of the transgender liberation movement - Sylvia Rivera. Vanessa Edwards is urging others to arrive early since they step off at 11:00 am. Trans people may also want to visit 'Sylvia Rivera Way" at the corner of Hudson &* Christopher Streets where the parade actually ends, To reach that corner during the parade itself, it will be necessary to go down 10th Street to Hudson & then south to Christopher because of the huge crowds along Christopher Street.

Julia Nixon gave this remarkable performance of her "own song" on the Southwest Airlines Stage (a small little-noticed stage in the middle of the Gay Pride Festival) at the Capital Gay Pride Festival which filled the avenue leading to the Capitol building itself in Washington, D.C. I just happened to catch it. Out of six hours of video I shot in three long days at Capital Pride this past weekend, this footage I'm staying up late into the night to post. Surely, she is a "super star" of tomorrow ! This song is 'universal' in its message and perfect for 'today' ! Happy Gay. Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Straight, Black, White, Asian, etc. PRIDE ! Let's welcome Julia Nixon to the stardom she so richly deserves ! Happy Pride to All People!

Most men love their mothers. A few actually hate their mothers. Talking to a bunch of young LGBT youth (15-18), I just let it all hang out & explained the complicated feelings I have regarding my genuinely hateful (but perhaps ultimately lovable) mother. Aren't all our relationships with our parents "bipolar" (a mixture of love/hate emotions)? This is my politically-incorrect "Mother's Day Card" to my own Mother & others out there struggling with conflicted emotions regarding their own Mother. Hope it truly speaks to & touches some viewers. Conformists & ordinary people will hate it.
