The Port Townsend Marine Science Center (PTMSC) is located within Fort Worden State Park in the City of Port Townsend, Washington. The center is on Admiralty Inlet, where the Strait of Juan de Fuca meets Puget Sound. The PTMSC houses a Natural History Exhibit and a Marine Science Exhibit, and they offer a wide variety of educational services for students and citizens.

Since the early 1900's, the city of Victoria, British Columbia has been treating its sewage the same way flushing it, untreated, into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. With the help of an unusual community activist, the B.C. government has ordered Victoria to develop a sewage treatment plan. The community activist is Mr. Floatie, a man dressed in a turd suit.

In rural beauty spots along Puget Sound, an invisible threat degrades Puget Sound drip by drop through faulty septic systems. There are nearly half a million onsite sewage systems in the Puget Sound basin and many of them are failing or in disrepair.

A statewide poll reported that nearly half the responders thought that Puget Sound was in good or excellent condition. The reality is that Puget Sound is in trouble, and many people don't even realize Puget Sound is polluted.

The Chefs in Raingear program is run by Riley Starks of Lummi Island Wild Reefnet Salmon. This unique program allows chefs from all over the area to experience catching, preparing and eating wild Fraser River Salmon.

Northwest artist Alfredo Arreguin is well known for his colorful, intricate patterned paintings. Many of his paintings celebrate the wild salmon, Orcas and the beauty of Puget Sound.
