Steve Levitt is the William B. Ogden Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago, where he directs the Becker Center on Chicago Price Theory. Levitt received his BA from Harvard University in 1989 and his PhD from MIT in 1994. He has taught at Chicago since 1997. In 2004, Levitt was awarded the John Bates Clark Medal, awarded to the most influential economist under the age of 40. In 2006, he was named one of Time magazine's "100 People Who Shape Our World." Alan Murray is a Deputy Managing Editor of The Wall Street Journal and Executive Editor for the Journal Online. He also has editorial responsibility for Wall Street Journal television, books, conferences, and the MarketWatch web site.

American troops exposed to repeated tours of duty and the threat of insurgent attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan have reported increased rates of depression, post traumatic stress disorder, drug abuse and suicide. The Pentagon has responded by ensuring all 1.1 million of its soldiers are trained in emotional resilience. They've called in one of America's leading psychologists to oversee the training. Professor Martin Seligman is chairman of the University of Pennsylvania's 'Positive Psychology Center'. Known as the founder of positive psychology, in the 60s he developed the theory of 'learned helplessness', and is the author of a number of books including The Optimistic Child, Learned Optimism and Authentic Happiness. Next month he will be in Australia along with the the Dalai Lama, taking part in a forum on the 'Science of the Mind', part of the Mind and Its Potential conference at Sydney's Darling Harbour.
