You’ve Paved The Way To Zion My Idren, Mikey Dread
from BadGalsRadio ~ I-riginal 100%GalBassed RooticalTruth March 17, 2008
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SqGei_yFUo WE Wanted to take a moment out and share the wonder of our Idren Mikey Dread - before the world fades him to Black. Having spent a few hours chatting here and there with Mikey, I feel empowered to relay his message in His Way . Mikey was an extraordinary individual; as charismatic and talented as the day was long. His charm opened many doors - and his personal choices slammed others shut. Mikey Left Us on Saturday March 15, 2008 at approximately 4:30pm in Connecticut; surrounded by his loving family and relishing in his glorious career and lifetime accomplishments It may be years before we see the full payout from his shrewd business decisions come to fruition in platinum sales. But be assured that with Mushiya and Monika - Mikey s Angels at the helm, his legacy will continue to Flourish and Grow for many many years to come. Mikey left at least two albums in different stages of completion; and we are sure that in time when the vault is opened, we will find masterpieces of Mikeys Creativity readied for release. who knows how many reels of unconverted tape Mikey kept in secret boxes. during our interview he hinted to me that he had several Unfinished Edi Fitzroy cuts - that he planned to release if they resumed their collaboration. which now will never happen. I still wonder if those gems will see the light of day, when Monika decides what to release and when. Unlike many other great Reggae Producers and Talents - Mikey controlled the rights and business contracts of his musical productions to the end. His legacy will yield gold for his family; as he designed in his last years. when things got bad in the early years, Mikey held back signing contracts after deals stunted his growth prematurely. he knew that if he controlled his music, and his distribution - he would be a hit, always. Today I realized that during the final 3 years of Mikeys time with us, he built the foundation of stability that will sustain his legacy. His marriage to Monika left a sour taste in the mouths of some, but for Mikey it was Pure Joy. Monika provided Mikey with his final platinum act - A Son Jah Light - born in October of 2007 - and from all reports, The Apple Of His Fathers Eye. We spoke with Reggae Superstar and Radio Personality Edi Fitzroy and The Musical Ambassador Trevor Elliott; Two of Mikeys oldest business confidants; last night, about their relationships with Mikey Dread. They both related to me their memories in balmy terms of how Mikey did business - Shrewdly. I know personally that for Edi, it has been very difficult personally to deal with the memories of their painful breakup as a duo - because he often felt disappointed in the loss of such a great collaborative team. they both went on to become blockbuster artists in their own rights; but when we look back, wouldn t we all want to hear just one more tune with Edi and Mikey.. I know I sure did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfGwU6n2cXA During my interview with Mikey in June 2007, we talked in length about his feelings about the break up with Edi Fitzroy; and he was also still sad and he lamented to me openly about the loss of both their working collaboration and the damage it did to their friendship. I learned from Edi just last night that Mikey had phoned him last while he was in California performing; and that they had discussed the possibility of a two man tour. Edi told me that Mikey had said Ok, come mek we do it ; finally. I believe Mikey said it, to instill hope in Edi that their friendship was again on the uproad to repair. Mikey undoubtedly knew by this time that his tumor had returned; and I personally believe that he was already in preparation for his longterm treatment. maybe the tour was on his bucket list - who knows with Mikey Dread; as he always teased you with possibility. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK04f_pm2-E how great that would have been. to see the two lions roaring side by side. the world will never have that chance now that Mikey has left us and gone to Zion. When I spoke to Trevor Elliott earlier today, he casually informed me that Mikey Forced him into the booth, to act as engineer and to record African Map . This is the very tune he handed to Trevor, as he made plans to move from Florida to North Carolina last summer. Trevor had no idea that this would be his last time sitting and drinking a juice with his idren, Mikey Dread. this past fall when Trevor got the call about the tumor, he was afraid this would be Mikey s last fight. he knew how hard the previous battle had been for Mikey, with the first tumor; and that Mikey had resigned himself to Do As Much Work as He Could, before he couldn t. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YM8aQeMlIuE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bcK0V6v3GA Mikey Was A Work a Holic to the end.. having dates still booked; even after he was diagnosed with the deadly brain tumor. Mikey never gave up hope, or complained about his illness. he was a perfect example of preparation in action for your trip to zion. I am deeply saddened by the loss of My Friend and Mentor, Mikey Dread - but mostly I am glad to have had the privilege of being the One He Trusted, enough to Give His Final Interview for the world. We Shall Celebrate Mikey Dread s Nine Night in collabaration with Foundationsound.co.uk; reggaenostalgia.com; musicalambassador.com and mikeydread.com. We ask you to please remember Mikey s Family in Your Prayers, and to Visit Mikey s Website and Enjoy the Photos, Music and Purchase Mementos of Dread At The Controls. Mikey Dread is one of the most influential performers and innovators in reggae music. His abilities, technical expertise, and unique vocal delivery combine to create a unique sound that tells the listener emphatically that it is the Dread at the Controls. Perhaps Mikey s work with The Clash has garnered him with the most recognition, but his credentials and resume started long before his eye-opening production on several releases with the renowned Punk Stars from London. His work and interaction with The Clash was a significant event in the integration of reggae into popular music throughout the world. The album, Black Market Clash , is a brilliant fusion of late 1970 s punk rock and a heavy reggae bass and drum line. The reggae aspect of The Clash s album distinguished their sound from the other punks that emerged in the 1970 s. Soon thereafter, it was a must for just about every punk band to have a reggae cover song on their album. Mikey was the first Producer ever to produce a UK chart hit for The Clash Bank Robber and later produced several reggae cuts on their internationally recognized Album Sandinista. Mikey s avid interest in reggae music led him to acquire an immense collection of crucial vinyl which he used to gain notoriety as a young DJ and audio engineer with the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC) where he began his broadcasting career in 1976. There he developed his own unique broadcasting style, which has been adopted by virtually every reggae radio show in Jamaica and the world today. His radio show, which became known as Dread at the Controls, was firmly established as the Number One Radio Show in Jamaica. Mikey was awarded Top Radio Personality of the Year in 1977-1978. In 1979, having resigned from JBC, Mikey decided to expand his career by getting more involved in the actual production of not only his own music, but also the work of others such as Sugar Minott, Junior Murvin, Earl Sixteen, Wally Bucker, Sunshine, Jah Grundy and Rod Taylor. His activities attracted the attention of The Clash, who asked Mikey to work with them. They produced Bank Robber and the already mentioned Black Market Clash , which sold over 3 million copies. His work on The Clash s most famous album Sandinista is internationally recognized. Mikey studied at the National Broadcasting School in London where he perfected his media production/radio broadcasting skills, graduating with special commendations in 1980. Mikey Dread has used his great and refined engineering talents to further reggae music in the United Kingdom and the world. He believes in a multimedia approach to publicizing reggae. Some of his works in the United Kingdom include narrating reggae documentaries, hosting series such as Rockers Roadshow and the ever popular six-part Channel 4 reggae documentary series Deep Roots Music . Pave the Way did what the title suggest for Mikey s career by appealing to a broad audience with catchy numbers like the track s Reggae Hit Shot , a dance song on the Hustle rhythm. The album Happy Family is another step in the evolution of Mikey s upbeat sound. He later recorded The Source (Of Your Divorce) for Warner Brothers Records USA, which obtained regularly rotated video airplay on BET as well as on MTV s hip-hop/rap program Yo MTV Raps . MTV s Sunsplash Special, which was shot in his native Jamaica, featured Mikey s video in 1990. Mikey released Mikey Dread s Best Sellers (Rykodisc, 1991), a stunning compilation of Mikey s best known songs including Barber Saloon (#1 on Jamaican and British Reggae charts in 1979), and the classic Roots and Culture . Mikey then went on to record Profile and African Anthem Revisited (RAS Records, 1991). He toured in Europe and the USA with Freddie McGregor, Lloyd Parks and We The People Band and also the Roots Radics Band. In 1992, he collaborated with former Guns n Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin on a duet entitled Can t Hear Em . He also headlined a charity event in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he earned a merit award from the Mayor. Other projects during this period include producing the Ju Ju Hounds on Can t Hear Em and Pressure Drop . One of his tracks Breakdown the Walls was featured in the movie The Rift. Also in this year he was nominated for a NAIRD award, an award from the Billboard Magazine, for his work on his album Mikey Dread s Best Sellers . In 1993, Mikey Dread was involved in several projects, including his tour supporting the album Obsession and working in TV with the Caribbean Satellite Network (CSN) where he was Program Director and On Air personality as well as Producer of various shows. These shows included Artists Profile , New Video Showcase , Video Dub Plate , Christmas Around The Caribbean , Christmas with the Children , Celebrity Guest DJ , a mini documentary on the music of Trinidad and Tobago and The Bob Marley Hall of Fame Induction . Mikey furthered his knowledge of TV/Video Production at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, where he graduated in 1996 with Honors and at Lynn University in Boca Raton / Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Communications, with Magna Cum Laude honors. Other activities done by The Innovator include working for the Video Jukebox as voice-over talent in several Reggae TV Commercials. The Culture Award of Honor in the Martin s International Reggae Music Awards in Chicago was presented to him in 1994. He also participated in the Caribbean Music Festival as an Entertainment Consultant in Nassau / Bahamas throughout the 1990 s. In 1995, he worked as a Radio DJ for WAVS 1170 AM and WAXY-AM 790 in Miami, Florida. In 1996 he participated in the Essential Music Festival as a performer in Brighton, U.K. He worked as a News Photographer for Metro Video shooting daily TV news stories for NBC-6 News station in Miami / Florida and in the summer of 1998 he performed at several European Festivals in Germany, Belgium and Austria. In February 1999 Mikey performed with the School Band at the 18th Annual Bob Marley Day show in San Diego and also at the Long Beach Arena in California. One of the better character traits of Mikey Dread is that he has refused to over saturate the Reggae market by simply not appearing on every Reggae event. This has helped him to maintain his credibility and mystique. Michael Campbell is a man of world diversity and immense resourcefulness. His rhythms have defined reggae and have helped with its global development. From Pave The Way to Breaking Down the Walls , there is a unique blend of rhythms only found in the man that everyone seems to see as Dread at the Controls . Mikey Dread s origination of reggae broadcast programming has given the world a formula for reggae that has been adopted by DJ s and broadcast networks worldwide. Today Mikey Dread continues his mission taking Reggae music door to door with the release of his Limited Edition CD World Tour however his 1980 album World War III has begun selling huge numbers again. Throughout the years 1998-2001 Mikey has been making impressive and captivating live concert performances with the Fully Fullwood Band across Hawaii and California. Most recently he has performed in Brighton, England with his UK Band Colors late October 2001 getting rave reviews and requests from other venues to return to Europe in 2002. His performances in Italy in November 2001 in Bari and Rome has re-established him as one of the original roots reggae icons of the mid-seventies/early 80s reggae era of Jamaican music. His mission continues, globally. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SatwjXJQn_w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbvbmlkYwnM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnNWV5jkyXQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTI_yJta8lY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDt1tdppuj8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8ybiqijhIc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjSkDfEv7_c Copyright 2008 BadGalsRadio ~ I-riginal 100%GalBassed RooticalTruth. Raelians Rocket From Clones to Clitorises; Thank GOD
from BadGalsRadio ~ I-riginal 100%GalBassed RooticalTruth February 24, 2008
Raelians Rocket From Clones to Clitorises Raelians Rocket From Clones to Clitorises By Eliza Strickland 02.19.08 | 12:00 AM Clitoraid is an nonprofit organization set up by the Raelian Movement to help women around the world who have suffered genital mutilation. The woman on the right of the photo is wearing a clitoris costume. Photo: Tony McNicol The Raelians have championed some strange causes in the movement s 25-year history, including aliens and human clones, but now they are going to bat for a body part the clitoris. The cult s leader, Rael, whose real name is Claude Vorilhon, has become outraged by the custom of female genital cutting, the primarily African practice in which part of a girl s genitalia is sliced away. Now the Raelian Movement has resolved to build a hospital in the West African country of Burkina Faso, where women could come to have their clitorises reconstructed. Rael thought this is a crime against humanity, says Lara Terstenjak, a spokeswoman for Clitoraid, a nonprofit set up by the Raelians to sponsor genital surgeries. Female circumcision is surprisingly prevalent throughout the world, particularly in Africa, where in some communities it is performed on 98 percent of the female population, despite legal prohibition. Coming as it does from the group that claimed to have produced the first human clone, the Raelians boast that they re sponsoring clitoris reconstruction seems open to question. Yet the group has reputable doctors on its side. The Raelians have recruited Marci Bowers, who runs a thriving sex-change clinic in Trinidad, Colorado, and has been called the rock star of transgender surgery. Bowers is a post-op transsexual herself. Bowers flew to Paris last April (on her own dime) to train with Pierre Foldes, an Ob-Gyn in Paris who reportedly invented the technique of clitoris reconstruction after many years of treating women in Africa. Foldes performs about 200 of these surgeries each year. According to Terstenjak, Foldes declined to get involved directly with Clitoraid, but he agreed to perform the surgery on women sponsored by the Raelians, and to instruct other doctors in his technique. Terstenjak says Clitoraid has sponsored six women so far, including several from Burkina Faso who were flown to Paris to have the surgery done. Foldes did not return a phone call from Wired.com, but Bowers confirms that the doctor worked on the six women helped by the cult. When Bowers first started talking with the Raelians, her working theory was that they were a little bit nuts, she says. But after a long, leisurely dinner in Paris with 10 cultured and international Raelians, she declared herself charmed. They weren t anything different. It s just that they bought into this philosophy involving extraterrestrial beings on earth, she says. I don t have to buy into the whole concept to do the work. During Bowers training with Foldes, they operated on 15 women in one day. Bowers remembers one of the young women they saw on the operating table. She was about 19 years old, and she and her twin sister had both had the genital-cutting procedure when they were little girls living in Mauritania. Her twin sister had died, the woman said, because the cut was too deep, and they couldn t stop the bleeding. Bowers recalls that the woman had the most severe form of genital cutting, called infibulation, in which the clitoris and inner lips of the vulva are completely removed, and the outer lips are sewn partially shut to leave only a small hole. Surgeries to reverse this kind of genital cutting have become fairly common in Europe as African immigrants become more westernized. However, Foldes is currently the only doctor who attempts to go the extra step, not just dividing the sewn-together skin, but also constructing a new clitoris. It s not terribly invasive, Bowers says. She explains that the surgeon first removes the scar tissue, and then looks for what the cutting procedure left behind. The clitoris, Bowers says, is almost like a snail. Most of it is curled up behind the pubic bone, but there s one tip pointed out, and that s the clitoris. So you re first exposing the remaining stump of the clitoris, and then bringing it forward with some suturing. Foldes performs the surgeries for free and in addition to his regular hospital work, Bowers says, and she expects to do the same. She plans to start seeing patients at her Colorado offices, and will fly to Burkina Faso for a month of surgeries as soon as the Raelians get the hospital built. She doesn t mind donating her time to the cause, and has also donated some money to help with the hospital: This is building karma, she says. While construction of what the Raelians call the pleasure hospital has been delayed, Terstenjak insists the building will rise within the next year. The group says it has bought a piece of land in a suburb of Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso s second-largest city. Here s a beautiful piece of information, Terstenjak says. There actually have been women coming out, known (genital-cutting) victims, and they want to help. They ve put themselves forward to the construction team, saying, we ve never done anything like this, but we ll carry bricks, we ll dig holes, whatever needs to be done. Terstenjak claims that more than 100 women are on a waiting list for the procedure in Burkina Faso, and that there s no requirement that these women join the Raelian Movement. However, one of the women who Clitoraid sponsored for the procedure is referred to as a guide, a term used in the Raelian hierarchy. There have been allegations that the Raelian Movement uses its doctrine of free love to attract recruits (such as this 2005 article from Wired.com), and sensual massage is reportedly a key part of their seminars. Some people say they were first attracted to the movement because they thought they would get laid, says Susan Palmer, a professor of religious studies at Montreal s Dawson College who wrote a book on the Raelians. But more than recruiting, it s a way for people within the movement to bond, she says. So could Clitoraid s effort to bring new clitorises to African women be a recruiting technique? Palmer laughs at the suggestion. That would be an extremely expensive and round-about way to do it, she says. They could just give them some food. Like the Christian missionaries they just feed people, and they flock to their churches. But that would be an old-school way of proselytizing. The Raelian Movement, as it prepares a better Earth for the extraterrestrial s return (expected before 2035), is nothing if not forward-thinking. What amazes me, Palmer says with a tone of respect, is that they are so inventive. Copyright 2008 BadGalsRadio ~ I-riginal 100%GalBassed RooticalTruth. RIP: Joe Gibbs Passes on in Mobay 02/21/08
from BadGalsRadio ~ I-riginal 100%GalBassed RooticalTruth February 22, 2008
Legendary producer died at 65 Friday, 22 February 2008 One of Jamaica s top record producers in the 1970 s, Joe Gibbs, is dead. Mr. Gibbs died Thursday night at the University Hospital of the West Indies after suffering a heart attack. He started his music career as a technician but made history in the Jamaican music industry with the production of several popular songs. Under his belt were songs by the likes of Beres Hammond, J C Lodge and Dennis Brown. Another Producer, Grub Cooper remembered Gibbs as a man who knew music. Joe Gibbs was in the seventies one of the biggest and best producers because he had a particular sound and that sound permeated throughout the whole music fraternity in those days. As a matter a fact even until today, his influence is there. He did produce many hits for Dennis Brown, the number one record, JC Lodge s ‘Someone Loves you Honey , which went number one in Europe and other places. He did a lot of work with the Diamonds and many other artistes. He s actually touched the life of most of the artistes in that era, he said. Joe Gibbs died at the age of 65. To the Family of Joe Gibbs, Artists, Friends, Fans and Colleagues, including Our Own Musical Ambassador - Trevor Elliott. We at BadGalsRadio, ASID HI-Power and Trenchtones Records express our deepest heartfelt sympathy on the Passing to Zion; of one of our Idols, the One and Only Mr. Joel Gibbs. Brother Joe Was a True Legend.. Always Setting the Mark High and Raising it Higher with each release. Thank You JOE This is from the Reggae Wikipedia - Joe Gibbs (born Joel A. Gibson in Montego Bay, 1943, died of heart attack 21 February 2008[1])[2] was a Jamaican reggae producer. After some time spent in the United States as an electronic engineer, Gibbs went back to Kingston, and opened a repair TV shop at 32 Beeston Street where he soon started to sell records.[2] The fast growth of the local music scene encouraged him to be more involved in the business, and in 1967 he started to record some artists in the back of his shop with a two-track tape machine and the already established Lee Perry who had just ended his association with Clement Coxsone Dodd. In 1968, with the help of Bunny Lee, he launched his Amalgamated label, and had his first success with one of the earliest rock steady tunes, Roy Shirley s Hold Them .[3]After Perry went away to set his own label Upsetters , Gibbs enrole the young Winston Niney Holness (later known as Niney The Observer) who helped maintain Gibbs production on the top of the charts. During the rock steady period til 1970, he met success with numerous smashing hits of vocalists like The Pioneers, Errol Dunkey, and Ken Parker, and worked with backing bands like Lynn Taitt and the Jets (including the organist Ansel Collins, and horns players Tommy McCook, Johnny Dizzy Moore, Bobby Ellis and Vin Gordon), or The Hippy Boys (featuring the Barrett brothers as the rhythm section). He switched to the reggae sound with his first international success Love of the Common People by Nicky Thomas (#9 in the UK charts in summer 1970).[3] He kept on recording famous artists like The Ethiopians, Delroy Wilson, and The Heptones (the two volumes of his singles compilations The Heptones and Friends were bestsellers in Jamaica). During this period he launched three new labels; Jogib, Shock, and Pressure Beat and also opened his New York Record Mart at 11 South Parade.[2] In 1972, after having moved his studio in the Duhaney Park district, he set up a new one at 20 North Parade and started to work with the sound engineer Errol Thompson, who used to be at Randy s Studio.[2] Together, known as The Mighty Two , along with his studio band known as The Professionals (that includes bassist Robbie Shakespeare, drummer Sly Dunbar and guitarist Earl Chinna Smith) they produced hundreds of singles including the hits Money In My Pocket by Dennis Brown and Ah So We Stay by Big Youth and Eviction by Black Uhuru. The duo worked on over 100 Jamaican number one hits.[2] In 1975, he set up his new 16-track studio and record pressing plant at 24 Retirement Crescent and kept on producing Jamaican artists under numerous label names (Crazy Joe, Reflections, Belmont, Town most internationally acclaimed production, with a major impact on the punk band The Clash. Other successful artists produced by the Mighty Two during the end of the seventies include Marcia Aitken, Althea s hit of Someone Loves You Honey . He didn t pay any royalties to the song s writer, Charley Pride, who sued and won. Unable to pay the huge settlement ordered by the Court, Gibbs went out of business.[2] In 1993, he went back on the Jamaican scene, reissuing works from his enormous catalogue on the Rocky One label his son Carl had started from Miami a few years before, and teaming again with Errol Thompson to produce some new music. SC Debate Barack Obama: Hillary Clinton praises Reagan
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) January 22, 2008
BLITZER: OK. Thank you, Senator. Senator, we're a little off topic. I have to let Senator Obama respond, then Senator Edwards, who's going to come... OBAMA: We're off topic, but... BLITZER: But go ahead and respond, and then I want to get back to this issue that we're talking about, fiscal responsibility. But go ahead. OBAMA: Let's talk about it. Hillary, I will be happy to provide you with the information about all -- all the spending that we do. Now, let's talk about Ronald Reagan. What you just repeated here today is... CLINTON: Barack... OBAMA: Wait. No. Hillary, you just spoke. CLINTON: I did not say anything about Ronald Reagan. OBAMA: You just spoke for two minutes. CLINTON: You said two things. OBAMA: You just... CLINTON: You talked about admiring Ronald Reagan and you talked about the ideas... OBAMA: Hillary, I'm sorry. You just... BLITZER: Senator... CLINTON: I didn't talk about Reagan. OBAMA: Hillary, we just had the tape. You just said that I complimented the Republican ideas. That is not true. What I said -- and I will provide you with a quote -- what I said was is that Ronald Reagan was a transformative political figure because he was able to get Democrats to vote against their economic interests to form a majority to push through their agenda, an agenda that I objected to. Because while I was working on those streets watching those folks see their jobs shift overseas, you were a corporate lawyer sitting on the board at Wal-Mart. (APPLAUSE) OBAMA: I was fighting these fights. I was fighting these fights. So -- but I want to be clear. So I want to be clear. What I said had nothing to do with their policies. I spent a lifetime fighting a lifetime against Ronald Reagan's policies. But what I did say is that we have to be thinking in the same transformative way about our Democratic agenda. We've got to appeal to Independents and Republicans in order to build a working majority to move an agenda forward. That is what I said. (APPLAUSE) OBAMA: Now, you can dispute that, but let me finish. Hillary, you went on for two minutes. Let me finish. Keywords: SC, South Carolina, Democratic Debate, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, book, Tom Brokaw, praises, Ronald Reagan, Republicans The irony of this is that you provided much more fulsome praise of Ronald Reagan in a book by Tom Brokaw that's being published right now, as did -- as did Bill Clinton in the past. So these are the kinds of political games that we are accustomed to.

The Boston Massicka - The Riddim Juggler tosses it to Mama ASID
from BadGalsRadio ~ I-riginal 100%GalBassed RooticalTruth December 07, 2007
The Boston Massicka - The Riddim Juggler Tosses it to Mama ASID From our first faithful meeting on the TCOOO Blog ; Massicka has been Forthright, Honest and a genuine delight to share an exchange with. This week we go to the Youth Man Posse to tell us how they feel about This Generation and Reggae Music . Several pods ago we ran two episodes with Bob Andy. When DJ Mass heard the interviews he wrote me and immediately requested equal time for a rebuttal. This is that Rebuttal, also in two parts. this is part one; with part deux coming during January 2008. Dj Mass says that Confusion about the youth and young musicians; has led to the splintering of the dancehall. Mass Reveals how Bob Andy turned down royalties for use of his sample in the Massicker Hit Ackee in my Salt Fish . This tune will be released in spring 2008; on a Going Home Riddim compilation - by MusicalAmbassador Label (MAMG). Mass tells us what he s working on; and what he predicts will buss the scene, fresh in 08 . When asked his opinion on the Beenie Man; Movado Star Complex he really shows us his strength and breaks it down. Massicka sites examples of bad character being adopted and why the minds of reggae lovers globally are being negatively reprogrammed - causing dances like the Drop Dead to become phenomena amongst the youth. When asked about this negative dancehall tradition of violence from the stage and the crowd; DJ Mass said this - Dancehall don t beat people down, people hold people down Massicka is a Real Warrior for The Roots and Culture; and when he puts out the battle cry, all will listen. The harmonies we enjoy bring us back to a place we remember as Foundation Sound . DJ Massicka is a part of the Vibrant Viral Soundsystem ; based in Boston. being a student - he is often seen spinning in and around Boston. Mass. We suggest You check him out in action on Myspace; because The Brotha Has Something To Say. as Well We invite you to check out TCOOO s Blog on MySpace - technorati calls TCOOO THE Black Blog on Myspace and In Blackspace ; and Blogtress The Fabulously Gorgeous Ms. Gigi James author of I Didn t Sign Up for This ; all a big part of the Massicka Foundation. This PHAT RootsDrop contains RastaNuKlear material - not for the Faint of Heart or Spirit; Pure Roots Rock Music from Hitmakers - Massicker; T.L.
