As insane as it would be to see a movie where Nick Nolte chats with God, that's not quite the Arcadia he's getting involved in. The Hollywood Reporter posts that Nolte, Haley Bennett, and Carter Jenkins have signed on for a coming-of-age indie called Arcadia Lost. Bennett and Jenkins star as pretty unlucky step-siblings -- mom and dad die in a car crash on their first family trip, and while on their own "the stunned teens roam the Greek countryside and befriend an expatriate vagabond (Nolte) who leads them to a mysterious spiritual ceremony." So it's kinda god-like, but in a style more fitting to Nolte. If this is your cup of tea, check out THR for info on tracking the film through Facebook. And then there's the sleek and tough Maggie Q. Variety tells us she's going to star in a new historical action pic directed by Tian ZhuangZhuang called The Warrior and the Wolf. Tang Wei was originally linked to the film, but since Lust, Caution got her in trouble with China, methinks they looked elsewhere. Warrior will tell the story of two warriors in ancient China, and is currently in production in the Xinjiang province. What probably won't be going into production any time soon, if ever, is a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. In a discussion with MTV, Anne Hathaway said: "I'm really, really proud of Fox's decision not to pursue a sequel. When I did Bride Wars with them I asked what happened, and they said we can't make a story, and it's not worth it to damage the original film." That being said, she has wished for a decent story for a sequel, and would continue the franchise if it was right. If Fox hasn't come up with something worthwhile yet, they probably won't (kudos to the studio for not forcing the issue) ... but maybe thoughts of more Andy will lead Hathaway to a similar role elsewhere. Cohen interrupted the fashion show of designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada in Milan making it onto the catwalk dressed as his Austrian model Bruno. Dressed in a black cloak, and a bizarre bundle of clothing, Cohen strutted down the catwalk past the shows' models. But the police were called when he refused to leave to restore order. Scantily clad models screamed and security guards dived on him and several others with him and bundled them away. TV footage screened on Italian TV showed Cohen dressed as his creation Bruno, a flamboyant Austrian fashionista. Cohen is in Milan working on a new film called Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Male.Dressed in a blonde wig and an apparently random collection of clothing, Baron Cohen leapt onto a catwalk and sashayed down the stage during a show by Spanish designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. Baron Cohen best known for his creations Ali G and Borat, the blundering Kazakh journalist is in Milan working on a new film featuring his character Bruno, a flamboyantly camp Austrian television reporter. Baron Cohen was barely recognizable in his bizarre disguise, in which a suede boot dangled from fur coats and capes, but a spokeswoman for the National Chamber of Italian Fashion confirmed that it was him. Everybody is talking about it, she told the Telegraph. Some people were very angry and annoyed, others found it funny and laughed. Italian police were less amused they hauled the comedian off to a nearby station and demanded his name, age and address, as well as details from his passport, which had to be fetched from his hotel. The incorrigible Sacha Baron Cohen violates the sacred rituals of high fashion, commented the national newspaper La Repubblica. It was the second time the British comedian has caused chaos at the world famous event. On Thursday he and his team used fake passes to fool security guards into letting them into a backstage area of a show by the Italian label Iceberg. Dressed in the same wig and a head-to-toe velcro suit, Baron Cohen ran around, careering into clothes racks. In footage aired on Italian television, flustered fashionistas screamed security, security until he was manhandled away by security guards. The exhibition, first organized in Tokyo and Beijing, has now moved to Istanbul with some alterations, and will run from 20 September - 20 November 2008. The exhibit includes specially designed dresses by Spanish designers such as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Devota & Lomba, Francis Montesinos, Victorio & Lucchino, Amaya Arzuaga, Alma Aguilar, Ailanto, Spastor, Juan Duyos, Miriam Ocariz, Davidelfin and Lydia Delgado. Whether you like it or not, the success of Sex and the City has breathed new life into the so-called 'chick flick' landscape (heck, it even gave The Women another shot at the multiplex). So get ready for more 'Ya-Ya Sisterhood' on the big screen, because Hollywood is finally starting to figure out that women like to go to the movies. Next up, according to Variety, is Lauren Weisberger's novel Chasing Harry Winston for Universal and Mandalay Pictures. You might recognize Weisberger as the author of the best-selling novel, The Devil Wears Prada, and Winston is her latest book to spend some time on the NYT's best-seller list. Winston "revolves around three young women who each vow to change their entire lives for the better in the course of the next year" -- and you can probably guess how each of them is going to 'change' their lives. One glance at the cover art gives this gal a quick education in what this book probably has in store for its readers. Gina Wendkos (The Princess Diaries) has already been signed to write the script, and Andy Tennant will direct. The addition of Tennant is probably where the last of any desire I might have had to watch this movie disappears all together. Call me judgmental if you must, but Tennant was the director behind films like Sweet Home Alabama, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Fools Gold; so I doubt this film is going to deviate from form. Plus, if you are anything like me (and I know there has to be some of you out there) this current crop of 'movies for girls' is starting to get a little insulting.
