Since the early 1900's, the city of Victoria, British Columbia has been treating its sewage the same way flushing it, untreated, into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. With the help of an unusual community activist, the B.C. government has ordered Victoria to develop a sewage treatment plan. The community activist is Mr. Floatie, a man dressed in a turd suit.

A statewide poll reported that nearly half the responders thought that Puget Sound was in good or excellent condition. The reality is that Puget Sound is in trouble, and many people don't even realize Puget Sound is polluted.

Water quality in Puget Sound is deteriorating and many species that call Puget Sound home are in trouble. The Puget Soundkeeper Alliance is an organization working to protect and preserve Puget Sound by tracking down and stopping the discharge of toxic pollutants into its waters.
