Shocking news! Many in Chicago were stunned when the International Olympic Committee announced that Rio would host the 2016 Olympic games. The news came as a knockout blow to Mayor Daley and President Obama who flew to Copenhagen along with many of the world s leaders to petition for the games. And yet some Americans are cheering at our own defeat as Republican and conservative haters applauded the news, even though President Bush himself endorsed the games a year ago.
