Red-necked PhalaropeRed-necked Phalarope
from YouTube :: Tag // storm
May 31, 2007

In this short video, a female Red-necked Phalarope is seen foraging on a cattle watering hole in SW Bartow County, Georgia, USA, on 5/29/07. Though this species is a common spring and fall migrant offshore in the Atlantic Ocean, it is a very rare visitor inland, particularly in spring and in breeding plumage like this individual. Inland sightings in Georgia are more often in the late summer and fall as a result of tropical storms or hurricanes blowing the birds inland.
