Performatv Videos

An improvised carnival. Vital sprint. Dance. Collective run to the take-off. An interactive performance. The performing group will be formed by a heterogeneous crowd of approximately thirty people including friends, volunteers, strangers, six basketball players, a group of teenagers, and the artist himself. Each performer brings or holds a sculpture or a simple object, like an extension of his body. Together they will form a skyline, as that of New York.

Circular File will present three half-hour television shows that will premiere new artist videos, interspersed with in-studio interviews, discussions and performances. Curated by Tairone Bastien.

A half-hour presentation examining the romance, figuratively and literally, between cultural funding and sex, drawn from such diverse sources as environmental psychologist Pace Underhill's "WHy We Buy," George BUchner's "Danton's Death," and congressional records concerning the NEA Debates of the late 80s.

As part of an ongoing performance, Alicia Framis donned her astronaut suit for her first assignment prepared by Silvia Prada. "The 'Lost Astronaut' must attend the opening party event of the perfromance-installation ON NOVEMBER 3RD and socialize with those present, and dance."
