Aliou has bought his girlfriend Nancy a new dress, which she eagerly tries on. Meanwhile, thinking that Nancy will reward his generosity, he surreptitiously arms himself with a condom. But Aliou hasn't reckoned with Nancy's reaction ... or her resolve to stick to her own AIDS prevention strategy. By Fanta R gina Nacro, Burkina Faso, based on an original idea by El Hadji Malick Seck, aged 20, from Pikine, Senegal. Scenarios from the Sahel is a unique collection of 13 films exploring the issue of HIV/Aids in Africa. The films combine humour, drama and animation with information about the nature of HIV/AIDS and the best forms of prevention. They provide an insight into the daily experience of living with the disease as experienced by people of all ages in Africa. In 1997, thousands of young people under 25 in Senegal, Mali and Burkina Faso took part in a contest inviting them to come up with ideas for short films on HIV/AIDS. The contest was so successful that a second contest was held in early 2000. Special emphasis in this contest was placed on encouraging girls/young women, rural youth, and young people who do not attend school to participate. Scores of organisations worked in partnership to bring the conteststo communities, and almost 22,000 young people took part. Scenarios from the Sahel (now known as Scenarios From Africa) is a community mobilisation, education and media project. It offers children and young people the opportunity to work with international directors in the production of short fiction films to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. As I have already explained about my thoughts on this type of media, most of them were like emulation of "Mass Media." The main difference was that they were portable from different mobile platform to mobile platform or different sites to sites. Another use of streaming media can be observed in video-teleconferencing or online class. However, it is very hard to assess that they are streaming media since they are more like a communication. Moreover, multi-user role-playing game can also be categorized under the streaming media since people are receiving the content of game through streaming. So, I asked my self whether the streaming media was a kind of communication or not. After brainstorming on this aspect, some sayings from the book "Orality and Literacy" by Walter J. Ong gave me an idea. In this book, they compare orality and literacy, and they emphasize some dynamic and continuous aspects of orality like there are no pause in oral and it is on or off. I somehow liked this aspect. Even we call streaming media, there is a need to download the software that enables receiving of media and there is also a pause in making connection. Although the word streaming implies some dynamicity, it wasn't really. Therefore, my imagination about "streaming media" would be first to enhance the "dynamic media." For example, if all the members of a blog are connected at the same time, how about any comment or new post can streamed real-time to all users. It's like listening to same music in a club, but now everyone can become the DJ. They can streamed any writing or song or video they want other to listen at the same time he or she is listening. It's like real-time sharing of media. I feel that streaming can be a very useful technology to enhance the notion of sharing, and building common ground. As I have thought that different blog technology needed some sort of traffic control in the sense that there were just too many variations, this streaming capability which has the ability to connect multiple users can be utilized to establish a common ground, a sort of traffic control on media distribution. Another dream usage of streaming media that I thought in 1999 was in the movie rental field. I just thought that if I could receive the movie I wanted to see through streaming would save me gas and time. Now, big companies are pursuing this idea, and trying to improve the technology for it. I just thought that this idea was just amazing and so convenient. (I wished that I had money to develop this back in 1999.) Finally, streaming media inside a household could be another good idea. I have worked on this idea for over 3 years, trying to define the perfect home entertainment system. It's like all electronics devices in a household can receive and play music from your computer in your room. More information can be found about this project from http://itp.nyu.edu/~thy206/Minteractive/FinalReport.pdf. Another project that is similar to this thought is "Media Kitchen." It's like transforming Kitchen environment as living room. Microwave that can play music from your computer in your room or something similar to this concept of streaming media.http://feeds.feedburner.com/Ppmediathyoon

Title: "I want to dance." This is recorded with digital camera on a subway in New York. I just found it very interesting, and I really liked it!!! The message I got from this video and the message I want to deliver through this video is the "free expressiveness." Similar to the medium of participatory media, it's totally free to express your thoughts or your emotions through gestures, like this video, or through different Blog or other medium. I hope everyone who see it can enjoy it! Link Video I also tried the embedding method as below, but didn't work. : CODEBASE="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab">
