Then, author Max Blumenthal, popular for his politically satirical videos at prayer meetings, hate rallies, gun shows with the extremist right, talks to us about his New York Times bestseller, Republican Gomorrah: Inside the Movement that Shattered the Party . While conservatives rebuke Blumenthal's claims of how the waning Republican party has been held together by it's growing ultra-conservative stronghold, the book has received wide-spread praise for it's explanation of how the wacky seeming Christian fundamentalist minority has came to control the GOP. For the past week, a coalition of institutions and organizations has sponsored Climate Week NYC with the purpose of highlighting the urgency for action on climate change through high-level meetings, panel discussions, cultural events and public engagements. For today's concluding segment, GRITtv went out to Central Park on Saturday to look at a creative action there as part of the Oxfam's TckTckTck campaign.
