Facing Conformity

Facing Conformity

from ɪˈθɪəriəl neɪʃən on April 02, 2009
Duration: 164
Image by Getty Images via Daylife I recently found a couple of older recordings I did early on in Bloomsburg, before I embarked on completing the Our Souls album in its entirety. I had them labled under the moniker Facing Conformity and they were two of three. The third was a live version of Axis that really didn t meet the dynamics of these two songs. So I skipped it. These both were recorded with Audacity and then programmed and mixed in Reason, as these tracks were created right before I got into using Ableton for arrangement and mixing. i really fell in love with the detail of the drums I used in War, but I m already considering a remix for Hey Media. On the other hand, I really loved the vocals on Hey Media and I would like to re-record them because of some timing issues. I m also thinking I want to add the War vocals back in as well. That should be enough commentary from me. Please enjoy!

SomaCow 286: Retweeted

SomaCow 286: Retweeted

SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow, brought to you this week by Etan on Tech. In a rapidly dissolving world of Old Media he is staying relevant and engaging his audience every day, and we salute him for that. If you are local, come meet Etan (and us, and a bunch of neat twitterfolk) at Scruffy Murphy s on Thursday, Feb 19,2009. It ll be dope! We talked quite a bit about our sushi charitywater.org tweetup, dubbed the Unofficial Twestival. For those of you that do not use Twitter, basically a bunch of short-winded creative-types got together and drank and ate. It s what humans do best. Mickey and I had a blast meeting cool people, and J is more than a little miffed that he wasn t invited . Since I have now spent two whole paragraphs vaguely referring to our NEXT meetup, let s see what he Eeyores about next week. So, we talked about our new Twitter friends (seriously, Peakarts.com, people), and took a call from Etan as he boarded a flight to stand best man for his brother in Atlanta. By the end of our show, He had messaged that Atlanta lost their luggage. Like, the whole plane? What the hell is going on these days with the airlines? No cash, no maintenance, shoddy customer service, paying for baggage that they then lose If you aren t leaping continents, next time, consider driving. I did the math, and if Etan spent 1 hour in traffic to the airport, 1 hour getting through baggage claim, 30 minutes taxiing, 2 hours flying (cause the damned airlines ALWAYS fly slow now), 1 hour claiming false-baggage, 1 hour standing in line trying to find out why his stuff was lost, and then 1 hour assumed getting from the airport to where he was heading? That s like 47 hours. It only takes 8 to drive to Hotlanta from Jamlando. Look it up, money. We also enjoy the company of Iceman in studio. He s overcome with our twitter nerdocity, and saves his chances for ever getting laid by a member of the opposite sex by remaining quiet for now. If anyone has been to the Ravenous Pig, do let me know more, would you? Thanks!

SomaCow 259: It’s Me!

SomaCow 259: It’s Me!

SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow brought to you by ComaSow which will hopefully be resurrected soon! Yes, J, sorry, but it s me. No witty Geoff here, but somone has to write the blog and since you aren t, I am. Speaking of J, it seems like Brian (tits mcgee) from Just Push Play is the new J at least in the firing department. He was fired again, I think. I guess we ll see Monday when JPP does their live show! Mickey says he s drinking again, but Geoff won t believe it until it s on Facebook. After all, nothing is true until it s on Facebook! So this isn t an official vote but we ll take nominations (by commenting on my awesome blog!) but who is the best listener? Someone who comments here? someone who listens live every Friday? someone who downloads every podcast? someone who downloads each podcast more than once?? Who would you nominate? (you can nominate yourself, it s ok) And in sad news, our first photo hung in the studio is one of Bettie Page on the beach. Beautiful photograph. We wish her happiness in the realm after life as she passed away this weekend. We d also like to thank The Redboy Podcast for our care package! We got some awesome Podcasting shirts (but the largest is 2XL maybe the cameras slim??) and a coffee mug and some magnets and pens and chip clips. Awesome stuff from Redboy and The Copy Shop. Check out the show and their shop! Let s support fellow podcasters and their endeavors. Speaking of which, anyone need any work done from  home? I am a great typist, editor (these blogs withstanding, I do them for free and usually with a baby on me so slack granted), whatever I can do for you! yeah, I m totally asking here you never know! If you need someone to do something for you/your business (not just anything, I do have SOME lines!) please email me, Jen, at jen@sayanythingradio.com thanks! And thank you all to listening to SomaCow and all of the SomaCow Media shows! Please tell a friend, or two!
