RetroVision Media Covers The Nation's Economic Collapse and the Hidden Dangers That It Will Bring
from RetroVision Media June 30, 2008
On June 23rd 08, it was reported by the Chicago Sun-Times that more than 2500 people lined up at a county office for food vouchers in Milwaukee at around 5 a.m. When it was rumored that some were being helped and others being turned away, fights broke out requiring local law enforcement being called to restore order. According to the story, about 7 a.m. pushing and shoving began as people actually took the doors off the county doorway hinges. The reported reason most of the people were there was because they were trying to get food assistance for the losses they suffered as a result of the floods. But many were there because they simply had no food, flood or no flood. According to one worker at the facility, “The food crisis in Milwaukee and throughout the United States is worse than many of us realized”. That worker went on to say, “We expect long lines for free food in Third World countries; we don’t a line of 2500 people waiting for food vouchers at the Marcia P. Coggs Center.

Protest at Sea June 23, 2008 Santa Barbara
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) June 29, 2008
The majority of Santa Barbarians and Code Pink in reject John McCain's recent statement that he supports offshore oil drilling along the California Coast. What nerve he has to come to Santa Barbara, where the oil spill of 1969, one of the most destructive oil spills ever. Members of Code Pink rented two sailing yachts, a sound system, brought their banners, and made their presence felt at the more than $1,000 a plate dinner in Hope Ranch at which McCain spoke. Penny Little and Nik Green of People to People TV witness the event, which ends with the Harbor Police being summoned.

News Roundup -- Big Gas Price, Big Food Price, Big Headache
from HeadlinerNews Roundup June 05, 2008
This week the United Nations held a summit on world hunger and an interesting topic dominated some of the key discussions there, the way that biofuel investment is driving up the cost of staple food goods. That's right, the cost of gasoline and diesel fuel is not just driving up the cost of transporting food around the world, it is also making the wholesale prices for basic food items higher because of their use as a biofuel ingredient. Other side effects of the high price of gas includes the grounding of the SUVs of the skies, the Boeing 737 and 747 fleets are being grounded in favor of smaller and lighter aircraft. Of course the price of new cars is heavily influenced by the cost of the fuels needed to make that car go, too. Thanks to GoToMeeting.com for sponsoring the show. The Week of June 2, 2008
from Just Average American June 03, 2008
So Susan Sarandon will leave the country if John McCain is elected? For those of you on the fence, why risk splinters when, by pulling a lever, you can rid the country of another leftist Hollywood nut-case? Of course, if McCain is elected, Susan will go back on her word, as did the simpletons who made the same claim back in 04. Too bad. Barack Obama has left the building, his church building that is. Realizing that average Americans will not vote for anyone who associates with racist, anti-American, anti-female pseudo-Christians, Barack is finally trying to put some distance between himself and black liberation theology. Trouble is, Obama has enjoyed close fellowship with Wright and Pfleger (the white Catholic priest who managed to make Wright look mild by comparison) for decades. Just now we are learning that Trinity has received as much as $15 million of Uncle Sam s money, and Obama may have garnered ear-mark money for Pfleger s church as well. Usually, a presidential candidate s views on defense or the economy out-weigh his church affiliations. Not this time. The real Barack Obama is being exposed as was the Wizard of Oz, a point Hillary Clinton is repeatedly making to worried Democratic super-delegates. Speaking of Hillary, I don t think she will quit even if Obama locks up the necessary majority of delegates. Love her or hate her, she is correct about Obama s electability. With his weaknesses laid bare, Hillary will relentlessly push and prod for super-delegate support. Look for a real battle at the Democratic convention. Gas in my neighborhood is selling for $4.15 per gallon of 87 octane. Personally, I m tickled pink. Americans are about to find out there are real-world consequences of letting radical environmentalists set the nation s energy policy. So, I m driving as much as I can, and even thinking about letting the cars idle all night in an effort to drive prices as high as possible. A man s got to do what he can. I ve never been a Laker s fan, although West and Baylor were great players and enormously entertaining to watch. However, after seeing the Celtics limp to a victory over the Detroit Pistons, I m picking the Lakers in 6 games. Maybe 5. Kobe, Gasol and company have too much of everything for Boston. The Dodgers are in big trouble. Starting and relief pitching is inconsistent, while nearly a week goes by between offensive outbursts. Andruw Jones can t hurt them from the DL, but he can t help from anywhere. The club is exactly where it was last year: thin pitching and weak bats. Don t look for them to play in October. Have a great week! ShareThis

News Roundup -- Buffett's Recession Buffet
from HeadlinerNews Roundup May 29, 2008
While the White House continues to preach good economic times ahead, some movers and shakers in the financial markets are starting to the use the R word openly. Warren Buffett said we are already in a recession in a recent interview.Despite continued economic bad news the federal government continues to hold the line that we should spend more to bolster the economy. Will that bail us out? The Federal Reserve committee members have used uncharacteristically blunt wording to say no more rate cuts, so that avenue of rescue is out.Summer is on the way, a time of vacations and housing construction -- or is it? At least one report states that gasoline prices aren't the only thing consumers will have to contend with this summer. Almost all prices are predicted to increase -- from basic food items to cleaning products. This is definately a good week for the Headliner News Roundup! News Roundup -- More Oil Not Solution to High Oil Prices
from HeadlinerNews Roundup May 17, 2008
This week, the price of oil jumped to a new high again. Now at $128 dollars a gallon, the increases show no signs of slowing. Even the announcement that the Saudi's would increase production by a moderate 300,000 barrels a day did little to slow the increase.President Bush, in the middle of a Middle East trip, met with King Abdullah to discuss how the price of oil was hurting the U.S. economy. He noted that we still had untouched reserves in the U.S. that were under disputed protection by federal environmental rules.Treasury Secretary Paulson talked about a stabilization of the economic and financial markets despite the continued rise in energy prices. A lot of issues here and certainly a good topic for the round-up!

RetroVision Media's Issues Under Fire: CIA Investigated,Iowa Votes, Recession Looms
from RetroVision Media January 03, 2008
With the race tighter than Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ass, we are hopeful that the number of those caucusing will be large so as to catapult Barack Obama to a win, with John Edwards a close second. As much as we like Joe Biden, respect Chris Dodd, and Dennis Kucinich, as well as Bill Richardson (Best Qualified Vice President we have ever seen) it is obvious now they haven’t got a snow ball’s chance in hell of pulling off an upset. On the Republican side of this contest, we are hoping for Mike Huckabee to kick the crap out of phony-ass Mitt Romney with Ron Paul taking the second place spot. While Dr. Paul appears unlikely at the moment, money and momentum could swing things his way in later. We should mention we have a great deal of respect for John McCain, despite his stance on the war and immigration, but somehow, his age should be considered a major factor, as this historic presidential campaign has proven to be grueling and exhaustive. The next president is going to be required t
