And temporary residents in this river along the Jersey Shore.But with the 4th of July approaching --- many environmental officials were afraid that these dolphins would be in danger....Especially as the area gears up for a huge influx of boaters and holiday revelers...Initially, officials hoped to somehow coax the 15 dolphins out of the river....and back to the ocean.But as the days wore on --- and the mammals made it clear they had no intention of leaving.It was decided that it'd be better to let them stay put.Fearing it was more dangerous to try to move or scare them back toward the sea. New Jersey police say they will enforce a perimeter around the dolphins over the 4th... trying to ensure that nobody harasses them.Officials say the bottlenose dolphins have been in the river for about 2 and a half weeks, possibly after making a wrong turn while chasing a school of fish. ___ ___, The Associated Press. Meant to do exactly what they say on the can ---Give people a jolt, a high-octane sudden boost of caffeine.SOT Student: "I play in a band, and I've drank it before shows to just get my energylevel up, just to jump around stuff,"And the wildly popular beverages have become a multi-billion dollar industry, targeting anyone who needs a quick pick me up.But not everyone believes they are such a good idea....especially for kids.SOT: "I want them to do the best that they can possibly do, and perform the bestthat they can," McLoughlin said. "And I think that these drinks arehindering that."Here at Manville High School in New Jersey, the principal sent a letter home to parents reminding them that water was the only drink allowed on school grounds after she began seeing this....SOT: Instead of breakfast, they were stopping at the convenience store andconsuming one to four of those energy drinks," The controversy is because many of these drinks have hundreds of milli-grams of caffeine --- With some levels reaching 10 times the amount in a 12 ounce can of Coke.And there's even worry at younger ages...Middle school officials say they are starting to outlaw the drinks because it could develop into a pattern.
