Causeway Bay Hong Kong Time Lapse Photography (Nikon P5100)
from Metacafe - Today's Videos by Metacafe July 19, 2008
I have a place in Tong Lo Wan (Causeway Bay) in Hong Kong Island. Since the view from my place is so nice i decided to do one of those timelapse videos. The camera moved a bit twice during the morning shots since the sun was literally burning my camera so i used the curtain to cover it thus moving it. Anyway this timelapse is done with the Nikon P5100 digital coolpix, plays at 30 fps, and each picture was taken in 30 second intervals. Anyway watch and enjoy. I thought the music was quite catchy haha

SEESAND
from Vimeo / Recent Public Videos July 11, 2008
SEESAND from Maarten Toner on Vimeo. Little video shot after a diner on the beach. All shot with DVX100A, Letus Extreme and Nikon 80-200 ED 2.8 at aperture F5.6. Two slight problems: so much sun in my face it was very hard to see what your doing even in the viewfinder. But not just because of the sun, also because of the 35/40 mph wind that was trying to blow me and my rig off the beach. Because some of the subjects where really far away I zoomed all the way in on the ground glass to get maximum tele. More then doubling the range, with the added bonus: more grain and almost impossible focus! (woohoo) Another problem that became apparent was the crooked rod sytem. Even after the tripod was leveled, pans turned out to have crooked horizons. (replacement risers are on the way) Anyway, just another quick vid. put together after being sandblasted for an hour or so. Cast: Maarten Toner

SUMMER HOME ALERT! HELPFUL HOME HINTS: Nationally ...
from Dailymotion - most recent videos July 09, 2008
As budgets tighten, homeowners and renters look for cost-effective and green ways to run their homes. Fortunately, there are a number of quick, easy and inexpensive changes that everyone can make to not only save money but also help the environment. Last year, Americans went through 50 billion plastic water bottles and 38 billion of them were discarded. Living a lifestyle that's healthier for the environment can start with small, easy steps at home. One helpful tip is to avoid plastic water bottles. Instead, fill a reusable bottle with water filtered from a PUR pitcher or faucet mount. By doing this, each person can help reduce their carbon footprint by saving up to 3,200 plastic water bottles from being discarded, and save themselves up to $600 a year, says National Lifestyle and Cleaning expert Tara Aronson. The Candid Frame #54 - James Atherton
from The Candid Frame July 07, 2008
James K. W. Atherton was a veteran news photographer in Washington D.C. for over 40 years. For 20 years, he was a staffer for the wires at United Press International, covering every U. S. President from Truman to Nixon as well as the major events of the day, such as the McCarthy hearings, the 1963 March on Washington, JFK’s funeral, and the first seven space shots. Few world leaders escaped his lens. In 1970 he became a staff photographer and picture editor at The Washington Post. Following his award-winning photo coverage of the Watergate hearings, he continued to cover Capitol Hill through the Iran-Contra hearings. He retired in 1990, but continues to make himself available to students and teachers in photojournalism. Always striving for “something a little different,” each Atherton photo offers an editorial comment on the meaning of an action, the character behind the face, the story behind the story. James Atherton recommends the work of Frank Cancellare. For streaming audio click here or subscribe to the podcast for free via Book Recommendation: 150 Years of Photo Journalism by Nick Yapp.
