John Cleese to Release New Video Series in Conjunction with The Podcast Network.
from The Podcast Network Blog September 27, 2007
British actor, writer and comedian John Cleese is to release Headcast, a series of online videos, which he describes as some humorous, some more thoughtful, giving me a chance to sound off in my old age. A free version will be made available over the next few months on The Podcast Network, which John says is rather good, run by Australians, and none the worse for that. A premium version of the Headcast will also be made available. John s free podcast, produced by UK new media company Funk, has achieved close to 500,000 downloads in 2007. Dean Whitbread from Funk said: John is really forward-looking when it comes to technology. He got into video early and he reaped the benefits. He s been investing in online media for some years now, and when we started to produce podcasts for him in 2005, we saw a huge take up from the online audience. John s podcast at http://johncleesepodcast.co.uk has been free since we started, and we re going to maintain that, but its success to date means we can now explore other options, including more video, and adding premium content. The Headcast is another example of John embracing new technologies to further his creativity - and although he s well known for being very funny, this gives him the option to do whatever he wants to do and take it wherever he wants to go. Cameron Reilly from The Podcast Network said that having a living legend like John Cleese joining The Podcast Network s growing roster of talent was a coup for the business and a personal thrill. Having grown up watching and listening to John, I am extremely pleased that he will be contributing his new material to our site. I have been a fan of his podcasts over the last year and am excited about bringing the Headcast to a wider international audience. Having someone of John s caliber producing podcasts is another sign of the increasing legitimacy of the medium. Hannity admits FOX NEWS became activists and helped to defeat the Immigration bill
from Crooks and Liars September 16, 2007
Sean Hannity got a little carried away and had a moment of honesty on H Download (261) | Play (217) Download (157) | Play (118) Hannity: I think we learned something and you touched on this in the book as it relates to as for example when people get angry, like on the immigration bill. The fix was in. Everybody agreed to it. They didn t expect a push back. Talk radio got involved, FOX NEWS, the new media all of a sudden people got informed. They started dialing instilled fear in their politicians and it changed. I thought FOX News was supposed to be a news channel and report events not act as a wingnut activist organization, instill fear in politicians and try to defeat legislation.Howard Kurtz agrees with Sean and thinks GOP network activism is A-OK. I d like to know why he feels FOX which bills itself as the fair and balanced network should be considered a news organization with this type of behavior? After all, that s our major complaint. Thanks Sean for clearing this up for us.

FOXNews Reporter: Who are you gonna believe? Me or my lying camera?
from Crooks and Liars August 11, 2007
This is truly ridiculous (thanks to JoeWo for videos and tip) Download (765) | Play (918) Download (431) | Play (483) FOXNews reporter Courtney Keely reports from Baghdad that the surge is working. Really, it is. Don t pay attention to the fact that she s in a Baghdad market surrounded by MORE security than John McCain and every Iraqi she speaks to tells her about the death and destruction all around them. I mean, c mon, don t let the reality of the situation get in the way of a good cheerleading segment for Bush s policies.
