Their conversion rate has doubled from last year... That's how many people visit the site versus people who visit and actually make a purchase. Right now, they're six hundred orders behind... as calls and online orders keep coming in... (NAT 17:05 "Everything, boots, goggles, gloves." From small to big stores... There's been an overwhelming online response. Last year, shoppers spent almost 850 million dollars on Cyber Monday alone. And many retail workers say they understand why. Free shipping, one day only promotions and slashed prices have many shoppers choosing the virtual route... A gift come early to many retailers... Before even one customer had walked in the door this morning at Home Sweet Home in Minot, the cash register was a-buzz... And at Cookies for You, their list of orders keeps growing by the day. (Mary Helen Hasby / Cookies for You) "For the next three weeks, we'll be very busy. Shipping will certainly pick up during this month, and we'll ship everywhere." Both stores say their websites are critical for the holiday boost to business, and while they have no shortage of customers during the year... (Linda Johnson / Owner, Home Sweet Home) "We really get hopping right around Thanksgiving and right up until Christmas. For us, November and December, the online ordering is just huge." And those orders come in from *everywhere*... (Linda Johnson / Owner, Home Sweet Home) "The people who order these products are people who used to live in North Dakota and want a taste of North Dakota and memories from home." Others want to spread their Pride of Dakota or just some local cheer all over the world...and from the Philippines...to Switzerland...and Alaska, these businesses deliver. (Mary Helen Hasby / Cookies for You) "We ship a lot overseas because we are a military community. People that have been here, have left here and been PCSed somewhere else, they still remember us." And they will keep going through the holiday rush...all the while throwing in that extra touch their customers expect from a small business...
