Revelations Gliese 581 is a deeper look into mans recent find of Gliese 581, a Red Dwarf Star and Solar System, 20 light years from Earth with atmospheres on one of its three orbiting planets (Gliese 581 d) found highly suitable for life. Revelations Gliese 581 was premiered as a multimedia performance staged Sunday March 30th 2008 at the Ontario Science Centre in the Hot Zone, created through a collaboration by Campbell Foster (Sonological Research), and David Porter (Motion Video Artist), for Digifest 08: Catastrophe Trauma, and Possibility, a three day festival of entertainment and exploration sponsored by Harbourfront Centre, the Design Exchange, and the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Parallels between Revelations, and Myan Calendar predictions about the hypothetical flyby of Gliese 581 as the 'Destroyer' with its planets intersecting our Solar System and the resulting catastrophic environmental, geophysical and electromagnetic revelations, all revealing an opening of pure consciousness, are explored. The multimedia performance Revelations Gliese 581 features the amazing particle feedback synthesis and real-time Computer Electro-acoustic music of Campbell Foster playing the Electro-acoustic Sheet Metal Feedback Phone, accompanying spectacular motion video graphics by video artist David Porter, projected on large screens and transporting the participants into a world of quantum particle instability.
