Bourré d'effets visuels sans tomber dans la caricature, le jeu pêche par sa durée de vie faible si on se contente de faire l'aventure avec un seul personnage, et quelques approximations sur le système de combat, parfois brouillon. Néanmoins, ce Muramasa fait partie des jeux où les qualités balayent d'un simple coup de pinceau les défauts, pour plonger le joueur dans une aventure extraordinaire et majestueuse.
