For Clark Higgins and Greenhouse affect, internet success at 'being viewed' on the net has been spectacular! (Laughs),...but honestly, my web traffic in like December and November 2008 has really dropped off now,..i mean we were a monster hit back in February and March n all at Google Video Com,...we were kinda like the 'New Darkness" of our time with our own versions of "I believe in a thing called Love" (Laughs),.. ya know,..its kinda sad and pathetic now,..when i run into people back in the South bay or i get the ocaisional phone call how some people or 'everyone' or whuddever 'always knew i was great and how they supposedly "ALWAYS SUPPORTED THE SHARK CLARK DUDE" Well,..thats a fucking crock of horse-shit,....the truth is is very few people supported me at all ...or even took me seriously for that matter,..even back in 1992 when i was walking around with my new tape cassettes of "White Black Thang" and "People that won't back down" and "Misogynistia",..i would work really hard,..hitting the streets of Redondo Beach,..putting out flyers,..desperately setting up multiple band shows and showcases up in Hollywood at Raji's Club and the Anti-Club....or where-ever,..only to find out everyone was laughing at me behind my back and saying what a 'dick' i am and how i'm a fucking jerk n all,...man FUCK THOSE PEOPLE UP THERE; - THEY LAUGH AT THE SHARK ??? I've done more in my life than 'ANY' of them,..I've accomplished way more than they will ever know or understand,..and alot of this as i have said elsewhere ,..it can be traced back to my very own family,...MY FAMILY THINKS MY MUSIC SUCKS,..MY FAMILY THINKS I AM A FUCKING JOKE?? ..THEY LAUGH AT ME AND THEY MOCK ME,...IT IS THEY WHO HAVE STARTED THE NASTY SHIT CONCERNING ME IN THE sOUTH bAY,..WHEN THEY LAUGH AT ME AND PUT ME DOWN,..IT ENCOURAGES OTHERS IN THE COMMUNITY TO DO THAT TO ME TOO !!,...and that has fucked my whole life !! MY FAMILY CANNOT EVEN NAME ONE GREENHOUSE EFFECT SONG ,...because THEY HAVE NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO LISTEN TO ONE OF MY CASSETTE TAPES OR CD'S that i have given them over and over,..time and again,...they automatically think that if it is by Clark,..theres no way it can be any good because after all; CLARK DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HE'S DOING,...WELL,..MAYBE THE LESSON HERE NOW AS I HAVE LONG SAID AND THOUGHT IS THIS; MAYBE CLARK IS 'THE ONLY FUCKING ONE' WHO 'DOES' KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING YOU MORONS !! I got way more talent than ANYONE in my family and now the whole FUCKING WORLD CAN SEE THIS,....THEY'RE JUST A BUNCHA FUCKERS,...THEY WOULDN'T GO TO ANY OF MY GIGS,...i come from a family of ELEVEN PEOPLE,..and rarely could i EVEN GET ONE OF THEM TO GO SEE ONE OF MY SHOWS ?? Greenhouse Effect Music is a regular staple of the internet. With a 'sound' that they've never heard before ! A band with great songs and timeless musicianship who somehow sound 'mainstream' in 2008 despite the large fact that they broke up long ago in 1992 !! Though its a song i wrote in 1991, it sounds like it was recorded last week in November October 2008 !! it fits right in with crap like My Chemical Romance and the Recontours and Good Charlotte and all that other worthless shit - 'THATS' what bothers me " says Haggins....."When it comes to uploading, we've discovered it's better to just bypass indie band sites like Musicane and Indiecharts.com and Mp3.com and all those - some of them might even be secretly run by the labels ,..and that is chickenshit crap ! -' We go right to places like Meta-cafe, Veoh, and Blip tv,..many more people see us that way - but then we really cash in when we get embedded over to stuff like TRUVEO and MEFEEDIA - 'THATS' when a band 'really' gets seen ,..and THAT is where its at,...ofcourse GoogleVideo.com is the best - but you gotta have great songs,..i mean you gotta be a real great band to get seen like G.e. has,..if yer just some generic soundalike, then people will see that - they will group you in with all that other shit that sucks like Angels and Airwaves,..ya know bands that just bite -that are losing money - and damned close to being dropped by their labels,..the thing with Ge is we 'look' so serious, ..we had incredible musicians always who could really play THEIR instruments,..i mean guys like Phil Keegan on guitar and Marty Silva on drums - those people are geniuses who played with passion and power,..you can't fake that kinda shit - people all over the world - they 'see' this now,....- as for Myspace and youtube, i donno - those are tough to get plays and views,..theres alotta payola involved now ...we at G.e. ,..we don't like to participate in payola like buying hits at myspace,.., theres so many bands on there doing it ,..but most of these bands -i mean ALOT OF THEM just suck - they are geneeric hip hop that just sounds pretty much like other generic hip hop or they are generic emo and alternative indie bands that just sound like all the rest,...Our advantage in Greenhouse Effect is we don't sound ANYTHING LIKE ANYBODY - EVER !!,..well,..maybe the Who !! Guitarist Phil Keegan (Dr. Phil) 'invented' grunge rock or as he says; "In the early days, i would experiment getting these weird distorted wrythm guitar tones that at first i thought sounded like shit ...i had a Fender amp and i would be constantly tweaking around because i had a wah wah peddle and it would feedback and distort till my ears would literally bleed,...i remember that Shark suggested that i up the midrange and the bass and reduce the treble and i was like 'no,..thats gonna sound like crap',...but on 'Racers', it worked to perfection...Hagins just threw on these weird vocals and lyrics but what people must remember is that G.e. wasn't at all a solo project; We were a band! As far as alot of Clark's claims,..well i have to agree...i have read where it is said he was pretty careless when it came to protecting our ideas n shit and me having been there back then,..i am an eye witness; we did indeed invent alot of shit - that today is mainstream,..yeah i'll take credit,..i would say its way more me than Clark,..but he did come along with that David Bowie Ziggy shit that went right with my guitar and we had this Syd Barret Iron Butterfly 1968 thing that was real, man...we were the shit in town...as far as the Wilson park shows, ..yeah man, we were the real deal - those were incredibly fun times,...but Hagins definitely stepped on some toes here n there,....and now i'm reading around the net and realise he had other people working with him mailing our shit around,..yeah i feel they got some critical secrets stolen no doubt,..today when i hear shit like Nirvana on the radio - that breaks my heart ,..because that band is nowhere near in a league with G.e. ,..and if you think Kurt Cobain can play guitar as good as me on Precarious or Number one, you better think again my friend !...and don't give me that shit about the pain game,..because in G.e., we had more real pain then Kurt Cobain will ever know,...i mean we're from the South Bay and Redondo beach ,..its a buncha fuckin' crazy people there man,..its beyond competitive,...you gotta be fuckin' good ,..and thats even if yer in some weak little punk band,..you gotta atleast have a great drummer n shit and have your songwriting together ! yeah, i'm the guy that really started grunge,..but I'm a lead player,...first - but if music sucks now, ..i'll take responsibilty if it means some of those record labels down there in Hollywood are losing money !! back in it's day, "It Ain't easy" seemed like a pretty good song to Clark Hagins but for what-eveer reason, this tune remained unreleased to the world until September 2008 where it has exploded at google in traffic (much like every other g.e. song), it has achieved it's 1,000,000 'view' faster than ANY OTHER g.e. song EVER !!!!!!!!!!! the new track "Subdue' is also doing really well early,..but 'it ain't easy' produced by Bill Krodel is the story here !At the pace it is going, it will surpass WHITE BLACK THANG, BRANDY, 22ND STREET, and possibly America the beautiful too as well...Says Clark Hagins; "We simply wrote great tracks, nobody really thought much of me back in the day,..well except for like three or four people..one of them is Jeff Snowe with Rock City Productions in Boston Massachussetts...this guy was just like the HUGEST supporter of G.e., him and Bill Krodel,..my studio engineer ..who just passed away two weeks ago....and my attorney Steve Hoovernton in Florida,...its sad for me to say but i can honestly say that nobody in the South bay really went ape shit over my music,..and nobody really in my family of ten....i gave up on my music and i walked away from the music making business in 1992,...today, strangers from around the U.S. tell me that i'm nuts to have done this....that i should have continued...that i woulda got a deal eventually,...well, now i sorta agree,...and i am angry...i am angry because for 90% of my life, people have treated me like a schmuck and i've been like this little puppy that laughs along with it like a joke,...well all my g.e. videos show and prove to me that not only was i not and never a joke,..but that i was pretty damn good and 'serious'...i was no joke at all; quite the contrary..i was one of the only serious 'ones' there really was in my town...that bums me out today man,..that really does !"....'Looking back now,...i see some really weird shit about the south bay man,....if you have half a brain,..you don't even talk shit about a cool guy whose nice like clark the shark,..unless yer a fucking moron....it just looks to me like i was surrounded by a buncha' fucking MORONS... and you certainly don't even THINK about kicking a guy like Shark out of a band.....unless like you need yer fucking head examined !"
