Prepared piano works on TENORI-ON(s) [Rehearsals] by Smith

Digital adaptation of the "prepared piano" ways of playing as first imagined by Henry Cowell and developped by John Cage in "Sonatas & interludes for prepared piano" (which aesthetic result is very close to his compositions for percussion quartet and Balinese gamelans) using two TENORI-ON(s) and various filters. N.B.- These rehearsals are part of a series of solo pieces inspired by John Cage's experiments for prepared piano and Colon Nancarrow works for mechanical piano. These last couple of weeks have been slightly dry when it comes to new films but I have been keeping myself busy trying to finish the new Antkowiak album.Kryz Antkowiak is a very well known polish artist and this is his third solo album. So far I have mixed six tracks out of ten so I am feeling fairly positive and pleased. The album is a real mix of different moods and atmospheres. Sadly enougfh the Yamaha pss-280 has only been used on one track, free when. I used the sound golf. Besides the very talented Antkowiak I am also working on anumber of different projects in the studio. IN January I had a visit from Gösta BErlings saga and Harry C. These short smippets were filmed at my Studio in Stockholm. The studio started out like a very modest home studio in the late 90s. Since then it has grown bit by bit. The studio houses a wide array of different instruments and effects, both acoustic and electronic. If you are curious about the studio please stroll by www.roth-handle.nu for more info about instruments, bookings and music. I am also on Myspace...just search fopr Molesome and I will be there like an old Motown track... We conclude our look at the Moog Music Minimoog Voyager as Bill Holland has some fun hooking it up to the Moog MoogerFooger FreqBox. The two in tandem are more dangerous than Rodman and Van Damme in Double Team. Check it out as Bill summons the robots via a robot call only achievable through select combinations of Moog products. Synthesizer Player's Stairway to Heaven:aka On The Run PlanB

Synthesizer Player's Stairway to Heaven:aka On The Run PlanB

from YouTube :: Tag // pink floyd on July 17, 2008

Theonly song I knew how to play on my first guitar was Stairway to Heaven and Smoke on the Water. This lasted a few years as I played it and Pink Floyd ballands to try to impress the girls. I wasn't very impressive, not a great guitar player, but knew how to play Stairway to Heaven dammit. Me and millions (literally) of others. So when I was watching some videos on youtube and listening to Dark Side of the Moon, I realized that the synth loop in On The Run was kinda like something you had to do if you play around with synths. Well, at least in my head. So, today I spent some time figuring out the Model 17 Triple Event Timer. The trick is to use low frequencies, really low frequencies, like cycles that take seconds or maybe even a whole 16 bars or something. I could see using it with a few Model 10's, One to drive at a leisurely pace, maybe even over a whole song since it can so an envelope that's minutes long. Chain some more Model 17s to trigger more 17s, on man...I should get back to max/msp or i'll go broke! Anyhow. I came up with this version of on the run. I used my phone video camera, so the video sucks, but I think the sound should be ok. You can definately hear the triple time triggering 3 different things. Neat. I think I figured out all the modules, now time to make music... Enjoy this synth cliche! I had fun making the patch. Revolution is the master sequencer, but it has it's CV modulated with a signal out of the modular. The modular also controls the feedback on the Moogerfooger delay. The slow envelope that the triple timer follows is one of the Attack/Release outputs of the Paia, the ADSR output is also used to modulate something, I forget what exactly. I don't document my patches so far, I probably should. Author: dkimcg Keywords: PlanB modular synthesizer Moogerfooger electro-acoustic Peter Grenader NoiseBug Added: July 17, 2008
