I'm really pleased to present this list of 7 fantastic guitar solos that most of you have probably never heard before. The list is, in no particular order: 1. "Sorrow" David Gilmour (Pink Floyd, 1987) 2. "Steeples" Brad Corrigan (Dispatch, 2004) 3. "Tunnel of Love" Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits, 1980) 4. "Edit the Sad Parts" Isaac Brock (Modest Mouse, 1996) 5. "The Camera Eye" Alex Lifeson (Rush, 1981) 6. "La Mar" Mat McHugh (Beautiful Girls, 2003) 7. "Sound Chaser" Steve Howe (Yes, 1974) I know these are not particularly the greatest solos ever recorded by each artist, but the purpose of this is to expose some of the massive talent that will probably always remain under the radar. From the overpowering emotion of "Sorrow", to the satisfying flamenco of "Steeples, the feel-good "Tunnel of Love" and "Edit the Sad Parts", the liquid sound of "The Camera Eye", the serene and relaxing "La Mar", and the bizarre and exciting fretboard excursions of "Sound Chaser", this is guitar at its purest. Each artist, old and new, should be given equal respect for their talents and efforts. Music is bliss, and I believe any guitar player/music lover will enjoy this collection.
