Durch einen Glücksfall bekommt Jonathan einen Job in einem anderen Kaufhaus und baut eine Schaufensterpuppe, die auf magische Weise und nur für Jonathan zum Leben erwacht. Sie lernt unter dem Namen Emma Isadora (Emmy) den Künstler kennen und verliebt sich in ihn. Ihre Inspiration hilft Switcher, beruflich erfolgreich zu sein. Das ruft die Konkurrenz auf den Plan, denn die neuen Schaufenster verhelfen dem Haus zu einem Aufschwung. Von Neid und Eifersucht getrieben versuchen Jonathans Konkurrenten, die Puppe zu entführen und zu zerstören. Doch kurz vor ihrer Zerstörung kann Jonathan sie retten und durch ein Wunder verwandelt sich Emmy endgültig in einen Menschen. Im Happy-End heiratet Jonathan seine Emmy dann in einem Schaufenster. Die Nebencharaktere seien „aus gescheiterten Sitcoms wiederverwendet" und würden genau das tun, was die Zuschauer erwarten würden genau dann, wann die Zuschauer es erwarten würden.[1] Das Lexikon des internationalen Films schrieb, die Komödie sei „manchmal übermütig" und „eher dramaturgisch zerfahren", aber „dank sympathischer Darsteller" „überwiegend unterhaltend".
