Anlass ist ein Vorfall in der Nacht vom Samstag, 6.6. auf Sonntag 7.6.: Ein schwules Paar wurde in Kreuzberg von einem Wirt mit einer Stange attackiert. Das Paar rief die Polizei, die eine Anzeige wegen gefährlicher Körperverletzung und Beleidigung aufnahm. Die beiden jungen Männer hatten sich demnach vor der Kneipe des 38-jährigen Inhabers geküsst, dieser kam heraus und sagte, er dulde dies nicht vor seinem Lokal."

"Knutschen bis der Wirt kommt" "Kiss until the owner comes" was the motto of the gay and lesbian protest against an ice cream dealer in Schöneberg. Police estimate the crowd at the "Kiss-In" at about 1000. About 50 pairs kissed demonstratively in front of the ice cream shop. The owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, had told two women to get away from his shop because they were kissing nearby. Those demonstrating want more tolerance and called to boycott the shop. After about an hour, the ice cream clerk shut the shop as the crowd applauded.

Finally got to do some exploring in clubland...and I found Sanatorium 23, which I've been hearing about for a while now. I really appreciate the lounge, warm-up space, with decent music and you go around 10pm. And especially when Gloria Viagra and Ades Zabel are on the decks.

The 5th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art, "When Things Cast No Shadow," opened to the public. Cyprien Gaillard's film "Crazy Horse," projected at Skulpturenpark Berlin Zentrum, a semi-abandoned no-man's land in Kreuzberg, shows the drawn-out process of a memorial monument to the Lakota leader Crazy Horse in the Black Hills of South Dakota. According to the program, "Cyprien Gaillard's film Crazy Horse is a tribute to the sculpture-in-the-making of Crazy Horse in the Black Hills of South Dakota. In 1948 the sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski, invited by the leader of the Sioux, began a sculpture to honor the Lakota leader Crazy Horse and Mother Nature. This monument, which will take approximately another eighty years to complete, will then be the biggest sculpture in the world. The dynamite used by builders when carving the figure into the mountains of the Black Hills, located beside Mount Rushmore, has wreaked destruction and chaos in the national park. The French composer and former opera singer Koudlam, who has collaborated on several projects with Gaillard, composed the music the artist's most recent film."

It stars Richard Grant, Eugene H tz, and Shobu Kapoor and was filmed in London in 2007. The film premieres at the Berlinale.Filth and Wisdom is described as a comedy/drama/musical/romance, the story features a Russian immigrant, ballet school, lap dancing, cultural revolution, poetry, night club, punk rock band, book writer, dominatrix and gypsy.
