An Incident
from Vimeo / Videos stevegarfield likes March 02, 2007
We walked out of a restaurant and saw that there had been an accident just moments before right out front. One car had knocked over a sign pole, which our friend Kat's bike was chained too. The bike was surprisingly OK, so we were cheering and taking pictures of it. The driver of the crashed car, probably drunk, was upset that we were taking pictures of his car, so he picked up Kat's bike and threw it ... Lip Dubbing: Afternoons and Coffeespoons
from Vimeo / Videos stevegarfield likes December 18, 2006
I was on the train from Providence to NYC after visiting Eric. I sat next to a Parson's girl named Carolyn (spelling?). She let me look through her iPod and I tried to persuade her to do lip dubbing with me, but she sternly refused, even when I said "come on, it'll be fun!" I was pretty obsessed with Crash Test Dummies in high school, so I was overjoyed when I found God Shuffled His Feet on there (she also had A Worm's Life). As a challenge, I didn't review the song; I just hit play and went for it. I think I did pretty well, despite a couple of flubs. Cast: Jakob Lodwick

Lip Dubbing: Endless Dream
from Vimeo / Videos stevegarfield likes December 14, 2006
I walked around with a song playing in my headphones, and recorded myself singing. When I got home I opened it in iMovie and added an MP3 of the actual song, and synchronized it with my video. Is there a name for this? If not, I suggest "lip dubbing". Music by Apes & Androids http://apesandandroids.com Next time I want to walk to synchronize my steps with the beat. Cast: Jakob Lodwick

Exodus, Cargo of Hidden Stories (April 13, 2006)
from APM: Speaking of Faith with Krista Tippett April 13, 2006
Avivah Zornberg is one of the great, creative interpreters of Talmud and Torah in the ontemporary world. She guides us through the Exodus story that is commemorated during the eight days of Passover. Passover is also the backdrop of the Easter events of the Christian New Testament. We find meaning in the text that Cecil B. DeMille and Disney never imagined — about the worst and the best of human nature, and the realities and ironies of human freedom.

Kat hoops!
from Vimeo / Videos stevegarfield likes April 06, 2006
This was a lot of work because Premiere and After Effects both have trouble importing files from my SD300 digital camera. A lot of video is the result of extreme patience. Anyway, the camera has a "fast frame rate" mode which shoots 60 frames per second, so all you do is slow the video down to 50% speed and you've got high quality slow motion. While we were in the park hooping, some MTV cameraguys shot us for Making The Band and had us sign release forms. Apparently we're going to be part of some "look at all the stuff that happens in NYC!" B-roll footage. Cast: Jakob Lodwick, missmareck
