This week I have the pleasure of talking to the promo s four directors; Masashi Kawamura, Hal Kirkland, Magico Nakamura Masayoshi Nakamura about how planning, web cams and a loyal fan base can combine to create an infectious music video. The music video was directed by Masashi Kawamura, Hal Kirkland, Magico Nakamura, Masayoshi Nakamura. "The song is about discovering your own color or voice in this world. It speaks of embracing your individuality in order to embrace what the rest of the world has to offer. The use of the web-cam and the idea of capturing people’s individual expressions as they collaborate to make a greater whole, made a lot of sense." Another music video for the band Sour (following Hangetsu) done on a shoestring. On a shoestring, got it? Yes? So, how am I going to translate it in Italian? ^^ Sour is a Japanese music band comprised of Hoshijima (guitar and vocals), Sohey (bass) and KENNNNN (drums). Omokage no Saki (Beyond your memory) is a single off their second album, entitled Every Undone Dawn and released on April 2008. The music video has been directed by Masashi Kawamura and Hal Kirkland. With the help of their friend and colleagues of 180 Amsterdam agency, the beautiful scenery of Amsterdam, we were able to pull something together and create this enjoyable animation on a zero budget. Many of the animated strings were created by actual wires and shot in stop motion, while others are vector data composited in After Effects.
