Proposant un gameplay dynamique, riche et profond, le petit bébé de Vanillaware nous montre ce qu'il a dans le ventre en proposant un Japon féodal crédible, inspiré, le tout souligné par un graphisme ahurissant de beauté et d'efficacité. Bourré d'effets visuels sans tomber dans la caricature, le jeu pêche par sa durée de vie faible si on se contente de faire l'aventure avec un seul personnage, et quelques approximations sur le système de combat, parfois brouillon. Néanmoins, ce Muramasa fait partie des jeux où les qualités balayent d'un simple coup de pinceau les défauts, pour plonger le joueur dans une aventure extraordinaire et majestueuse.
