During the recent United Soybean Board meeting held in Indianapolis board members developed a strategic plan to guide the soybean industry for the next 3 to 5 years with the goal of keeping soybean farmers profitable. And while the industry is moving forward, Ike Boudreaux of Louisiana who serves as USB chairman says there are challenges and those are the areas where the USB is investing soybean checkoff dollars.

Corinne Alexander, a Purdue University ag economist says to expect the market to start paying attention to the ’08 crop sometime after the first of the year. In the meantime, Alexander says the market is more closely watching this falls harvest, and for good reason.
